Why the 2013 mid year furniture change?

DW has seen an early 2013 Sanibel 3600 pics of the air mattress couch and recliners with the pockets. Our 3600 has the standard mattress fold out bed and the more "plain" looking recliners. DW wants to know why the change in style of furniture.

Manufacturers have the right to make changes in things, says so on the back of every brochure. Maybe the furniture supplier made changes to the design of the sofa and recliners, hence Sannibel puts in what it gets. Maybe there was a switch in furniture suppliers.

Most likely, you are referencing the change in furniture brand. We are now using Lane Furniture (a new supplier) in the Sanibel. This was a mid-year change that was not driven by the model year.

Sorry for the confusion.

RV Guy....I believe that Prime Time is now using the Lane Furniture in the Crusader. We have a 2012 320RL and very very much dislike the sofa, the trailer was so nice but that sofa was terrible and they really skimped on it. How can I go about purchasing one made by Lane?

You can order a Lane Sofa thru your dealer - lots of current owners have gone this route.

Angry Useless Sleeper Sofa in 2012 3400

We bought this trailer new in February of 2013. Wasn't until we had an overnight guest for the first time late August of 2013 that we opened this sofa up and noticed it was lower on the head end then the foot end by about 3-4 inches. Totally unacceptable and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Needless to say the next time we had an overnight guest they slept on an air mattress on living room floor. I would not put anyone on this useless excuse for a bed. Anyone know of a replacement that matches the recliners in the unit, that does not cost an arm and a leg and that would fit in the space...thanks for any help or suggestions on this matter.

You have a 1 year warranty I suggest you make the factory fix it.

No reason for you to pay for their mistake.

Yeah I don't think that will happen. We went to our dealer once already about another problem and the reply was and I quite "I guess your just going to have to live with it". Not impressed with our dealer or Primetime :-(

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I wouldn't set back and take it, I'd fight. If the dealer won't help, it's time to go to FR and get help.

What is the dealers name? It would help other people to know, so they can avoid this dealer. You should try and contact Primetime directly. They might be able to find another dealer near you that can do the repairs.

Factory, not the dealer.
Get the claim started before your warranty is out, get in touch with your manufacture, send them pictures and a brief description of the problem and steps taken to this point.

Tell the dealer to stuff it someplace.

If the dealer actually told you to "live with it.".. I would identify him or her so we can all avoid dealing with this poor excuse for after sale service.

Our Crusader is currently at dealer with exact same problem with the foot of sofa bed higher than head. We also purchased Feb 13. The dealer agrees replacement is only solution and we are waiting to hear PT response. Should hear something this week. Ours was almost 5 inches higher on foot, ridiculous. I feel dealer will make it right, so far so good on other issues. It is a Lane leather sofa, the sofa as a whole poorly designed. Will keep you posted on solution.

You could also try to go to the sofa manufacturer. Lane is a pretty big co. and will not like its name splattered with "this is wrong". Just a thought. Or, just switch the head/foot position?

Yes, the sofa bed is ridiculous! We also bought a brand new Sanibel 3400 in May 2013 and our guests have all complained about the bed. They all slept the reverse way and were very uncomfortable. A suggestion was made on this forum to place 3-4" thick pieces of foam at the head of the bed. However, since so many of us have complained, I think there should be a recall and Lane should either replace the couches or devise some kind of repair.

Will let dealer have opportunity to work out, but will keep the Lane option open. It is impossible to change unless 5 ft tall or less, hard to explain without seeing it. The wood frame is wrong. We did try using foam that we removed from back cushions to help when we did use, as the back is too thick to comfortably sit on couch, but this is NOT a solution to something under warranty. They are aware there is problem just think they don't like solution.

Our Lane sofa/bed is also not the same height the entire length, in fact it is several different heights and very short. I had always thought well of Lane until now. Also some Velcro strips that hold the backs of the recliners together are missing- so the back flap just blows in the breeze. I agree about dealers- once they sell you the trailers, some dealers treat you as a PITA when you bring an issue to them. Shame on them.
