My kitchen slide comes in against island so I can not open doors when slide is in. I'm not going to leave the slide out during the winter months. Would a box of baking soda work?
They don't have to be open much. My slide comes in so that the fridge almost touches the island but I can open the doors just a crack. Enough to let air in. I can't imagine it being so tight against the island otherwise you would get wear on the fascia.

I've done the same thing....leaving the doors slightly ajar. I also placed a small box of backing soda in each the fridge and freezer areas of the refrigerator.
