Hey RhoZeta,
not sure if you got the instructions with your X Chock kit or not but it tells you in the instructions to detach the tow vehicle and level the trailer prior to installing the X Chock and remove X Chock before attaching the TT to the TV

Might be worth it for you to buy a set of wheel chock's and then install the X Chock's after your trailer is setup if you are a incline / grade

Doesn't that sorta defeat the purpose of using them? I ordered a pair to stabilize while camping but mainly for safety when unhitching - read a scary story on this forum where a fellow used a regular chock and it slipped (as i've seen happen on other trailers) and the tougue swung when it came off the ball and nearly pinned the guy.

the 'level' the spot the more danger I think there is as no piece of ground is perfectly level and removing the tounge from the ball may allow the trailer to 'settle' a bit. I've been surprised a few times. Perhaps a much heavier trailer stays put more than lighter ones?

As far as I always understood it, the X-chocks are to help stabilizer the trailer while camping. That's why I purchased mine.
I do use wheel chocks when hooking/unhooking the trailer and while parked at the house. I haven't had any problem with them.
