An alternative route is to get off of the toll road one exit to the west (Exit 101, Bristol/Goshen, IN Highway 15 South). If you take that route, when you get to Bristol you’ll make a jog to the right and then to the left to stay on IN 15, and continue on IN 15 all the way to Goshen. In Goshen, you’ll turn left on US33 and, a block later, turn right, staying on US 33. Pass the courthouse and go about two more blocks to the stoplight at CVS Pharmacy. Turn left, continuing on US 33 to Goshen High School, where you’ll turn left on CR 34 / Monroe Street and continue about ˝ mile to the fairgrounds."

I checked that route out - here is similar with a few less turns!
If you look at Google maps, you can also, when on 15 south in Goshen turn left on East Lincoln (red bldg on southeast corner, Maple City Hobbies), continue to Blackpool Drive, right on Blackpool Dr to East Monroe, left on East Monroe and you are almost at the gate. I like to use Google street view to "pre-drive" some sections!
Tina, that route will work fine, but it's BLACKPORT, not Blackpool. It's a residential street, but it's just been repaved and the trees are trimmed way back, so no problem with an RV. I drove it just last week to make sure that it would work as a detour after the bridge to the west of the fairgrounds is removed.

There's a multi-track railroad crossing on Lincoln at South 8th that's a little rough, but it's not a big deal. Bikers can also pick up the Pumpkinvine Bike/Nature Trail there, by the way. I don't know what was going on when the photo was taken that's on Google Maps, but there was a HUGE crowd in the little park by the trail that day.

REGARDING THE PAVING PROJECT ON ROUTE 13:

I just spoke this evening -- Sunday evening, for goodness sake! Boy the things I do for you guys ;-) -- anyway, I spoke with a gentleman from the paving company when he was out doing some measurements on Highway 13. There's only about 1000 feet left in the project, going north from right in front of the Coachmen RV complex.

I suspect that the time you'll wait in traffic north of Middlebury will be less than the time it will take to use a detour, so you might want to just take 13 and be patient for a little while.

Oops! My bad. Don't leave me in charge of anything! I'm sure we will all find our way there, somehow. We may be backed up in a line right out of town to register, there will be so many of us!

On Monday the doors will open at 5:30. We're asking that everyone enter from the east side of the building (the doors facing the RV display and the clock tower). That request will cause lines, but there's a good reason for it. Trust me, but just don't get behind me in line.
