Exactly! Not only will they be assigned to you, but if you decide to arrive earlier than the normal arrival day - Sunday - they will park you in the spot that would be your assigned rally spot! That way you don't have to move your camper! Way to go Bob!! Just contact the grounds directly for arranging the early arrivals if you need!

This was part of the Rally update email that Bob Byrne sent out this morning. Hope this helps answer some questions.

"Upon arrival at the Fairgrounds, you’ll be entering at Gate 2. Depending on traffic, you’ll either pull right up to the check-in table or, if traffic is heavy, make a loop through the front parking lot to allow traffic to get out of the street. There will be someone there to direct you. When you reach the check-in table, you’ll be given your site number or area and escorted to you site by a member of the parking committee on a golf cart. Once you’re settled, we ask that you come to the registration area to pick up maps, schedules, name badges, and welcome bags.

If you’re planning to arrive early on your own, or to stay late, you can call the Fairgrounds at (574) 533-3247 and ask for Bev or Diane. Let them know that you’re with FROG. They won’t assign you a specific site. Instead, we’ll get you into the site that you’ll have for the rally so that you don’t have to tear down and move. You’ll be making payment directly to the Fairgrounds for the extra nights."

Yeah, what they said.

There will be sites assigned. As I think everyone knows, the first 100 registrations were guaranteed full hookups. (There are actually considerably more FHUs than that, but not everyone will be able to have one. Everyone will have at least 30-amp power and water, and those who don't have a sewer connection will have pump-out service available on Wednesday.

After the first 100, there will be several considerations. If your rig has 50-amp service we'll try to make sure that you get it. That might or might not include sewer. We will try -- but can't guarantee -- to put folks together who have requested to be together. There will be an R-Pod Village of about 15-20 units. We'll accommodate those who have limited walking or other mobility issues.

There is a block of FHU spots inside the racetrack (horses, not cars), but we won't decide until very close to the rally whether we'll use them. The only way in and out is across the dirt track, and if we have rain there's a risk of getting rigs stuck or tearing up the track, neither of which I want to do. Last year we did not use them, and the one day of heavy rain that we got convinced me that it was the right decision.

I will warn you that there are trains going by the fairgrounds on a regular basis. Some people said last year that after the first night they never even heard one. Others said they were up cussing them out every night. The fairground director claimed last year that about 120 trains go through Goshen every day, although not all of them go by the fairground.

As Bob Schorfheide (bobfidy) mentioned, I sent out an e-mail this morning with additional information about meals arrival, and more. If you've not seen it, you might want to stop by your inbox. If you still don't see it, some people have told me that some of my messages have gone to their spam box.

More to come.

1/4 mile? Heck, I can get you a LOT closer than that! In fact, I'm not sure that I can get you that far away.

Just make sure you get Turbs along side the muck pile with no hookups or honeywagon service and you get an extra $200 CASH.

Bob, another request, we need somewhere to show Blazing Saddles for the upper echelon folks (not Turbs) that understand a good movie.

Turbs, let me guess, the check is in the mail. There's a $200 bid on the table. Waiting. Waiting. Still waiting...
