For non Hams & non CB people none of these will work. Isn't it also possible to get a low powered FM radio station going for such a big event without a lot of regulation red tape? But a printed sheet of paper or prominent sign boards with the events, times and places will also work. Once I know what I'm supposed to be doing and where I put it in my Apple iPhone and set alarms. But the point of this discussion is that there are clear indications of what's on and where and when. No one will need such notification for meals I shouldn't imagine. [emoji6]

Being we are so close together the small radios will do.
No need to broadcast around the world just within a mile.
Many folks carry these small radios around with them for basic communications.
Having the parking crew have them is also a good idea.

When you register at the rally you will be given a welcoming packet and inside you will find all the information you need for the events and seminars. Bob and Cindy will make any additional announcements during or after the included meals.
Read the info in the welcoming packet.

One can or used to be able to set up a mini/micro FM radio station. I remember finding it on line while looking for something else. You know how it goes, it wasn't important, so can't remember.

From attending 2 rallies at Goshen, I think Frog Bob and crew have things pretty well handled in all categories. Parking crews have walkie talkies and do a great job 99% of the time. There may be a few snafus, but with that many campers & people, it is to be expected.
JUST BRING A BIG SUPPLY OF PATIENCE and you will be just fine.

First time for this rally. From the above I take it there will not be any information/documentation coming prior to the Rally?
Have the confirmation e-mail but wondering if I have to be on the lookout for anything else.
Thanks,

For the most part, that is correct. Don't worry, everything will be just fine. Just bring a bucket of patience and enjoy yourself and the fine people you will meet.

Good for you Lou, I have been a ham radio operator for over 50 years, plain to bring a couple two meter rigs and handheld units with me so if you need one just let me know.

I don't speak for Bob and Cindy but last year in late July they sent out a PDF file of the tentative schedule of events and seminars in an email. I have no idea if he plans to do this again.

Quilters-Knitters !!! you asked that we do the session again in 2015 and we are on for Thursday, right after breakfast in the dining hall. bring your quilt/websites/techniques to share. Pamela Smith-Hancy and Sherri Brown will be the facilitators. We had a great turnout last year and hope to have a larger one this year.
