Thanks you guys for the route and roadway info.
We are changing our route and using the route SkipnTerri suggested.
Now we have to find a campground in southern Illinois.

Thanks

Goshen Rally - Wildcat Factory Tour

We're excited about starting our trip to Goshen Wednesday morning.

I was looking at the new agenda file and I don't see anything about a Wildcat factory tour. The prospects of a tour of the Wildcat factory was one of the 2-3 top reasons I registered for the rally.

Can anyone tell me if there's any hope a tour of the Wildcat factory (VIN code V) can be arranged?

Similarly, am wondering if a tour of Coachmen will be offered.

I know Don Hasty told me a Sabre tour will not be offered but they are doing Columbus instead. Don't know about the others.

Use caution if using County roads for (Shortcuts/Detours) in Elkhart county! The (Horse Exhaust) contains Oats and will stick to more than your Ribs! Since (91%) of towed RVs are White it really shows up well! Youroo!!

What stretch of 33 are they out? Google maps gave me a few options but had us on 33 halfway from fort Wayne to Goshen. We will be overnighting in Wapakoneta OH.

Hwy 15 has a detour, just take 1 country block right, first left, 2 blocks up and left agin back to 15. A great run, nice rural landscape and we even beat the others that took the Interstate route from the same starting point by 20 minutes.

I also too 115 from 24 to 15, nice short cut.

Among the first (of several) considerations that we use in selecting plants for tours is the number of attendees in those brands. IIRC, there are only about 9 Wildcats and about 19 Coachmen of various types. (Class A, C, fifth wheels, and trailers are in separate plants). I can take another look and see if production and bus availability allow for adding one or the other.

Two plants -- Georgetown / FR3 and Cardinal are unfortunately very small plants that don't physically allow for a busload of visitors. It's sometimes possible to arrange for a limited number of visitors to stop by. If you're interested in that, stop by the RV display and ask a sales rep about it.

Any route suggestions coming west from I-69 southbound from Lansing Mi that miss construction and/or poor RV roads?

Last year the GPS took us on a smattering of backroads, and past the Coachmen factory, on the way in. Not sure how they look this year, we don't leave till Saturday. If you encounter any construction please let us know as we'll be generally coming the same way after getting off I-94.

They didn't just add a Columbus "instead". There has been a Columbus factory tour the past 2 years at least (not sure about the prior year of rally).

I'm several mile south of Kokomo but for sure can get your camper to Goshen for you if need be.

Not sure on your hitch-- if it's bumper I have everything. If it is a 5th wheel I don't have that.

But for sure my truck will be big enough. Just PM if you need assistance.
