Peppercatt there are seminars, new rvs to tour as well as socializing on the green. Not sure about the fire pits. Safe travels and see you at the rally.

2016 International Annual Frog Rally August 14 to 20 2016
We have a propane fire pit. It has been so hot the last few years I have not wanted a fire myself.

Are contained metal fire pits allowed at the rally?

Plenty to do in the area. Here's a link to Indiana Amish Country:
Official Amish Country Travel Guide
Also...check out the Tour list found on the "Standby" form. Many of the attractions and points of interest are open to individuals to enjoy on their own.

Just be prepared when you get there. The week goes by very quickly.

What goes on at FROG? 1 meal a day, factory tour 1 day, paid tour 1 day. Factory service 1 day, maybe. If I get there on Wed or Thursday and leave on following Sunday that's 10 days or more. I think I'll be ready to leave

Don’t forget to spend time looking at all the goodies the vendors will be bringing. Don’t forget to look at all the display models Forest River will bring in. There will be plenty of seminars to attend. I believe there will be a flea market again this year if you have any stuff to sell/get rid of. Don’t forget about the entertainment, a couple of years ago Bob brought in a ventriloquist and I had the glorious privilege of being a dummy. (I still owe you for that one Bob ). If Pete Liegl is there this year it will be a chance to see the CEO of Forest River. Perhaps Mike Stump will be giving out free corn again this year.
And the NUMBER ONE reason to spend as much time as possible at the rally is the opportunity to make new and lasting friends. I always feel sad on the last day of the rally because I know I won’t see some of my FR friends for another year.
There is so much to see and do in Elkhart County and the surrounding area that there isn’t enough time to see it all.

It's more like 1.6 or 1.7 meals a day. There's 6 breakfasts (Mon-Sat) and 4 dinners (Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri I think but don't quote me on that, memories a little fuzzy).
Aside from that, there's plenty of good friends to visit, vendors who'll suck your finances dry selling you upgrades, lots of freebies like:
vendor prizes, door prizes, service, free corn, free ice cream sundaes, free gawking at new rigs, free seminars (though I haven't done any of those with kids in tow), free entertainment, ....
