They want to try to get enough power and water hookups to have 1000 rigs next year! It will be at Elkhart county 4h fairgrounds again.

I wish I could attend. Made it last year and had a great time! Met some great folks and had some awesome work done on the rig!! Looks like we won't be able to attend next year if the dates stay the same. Tough for a teacher to not be in the classroom the very first week of school. Hope something happens and they shift it back to the end of July.

We're so bummed! We had such a great time at the rally this year - really enjoyed volunteering. But we already have a vacation on the books for the week after the rally in 2016, so we won't be able to make it. Waah! Add another one in July!

Kind of disappointed to hear that they want to hit 1000 camper. To me this year was about as much as one could handle and not have big issues. Bigger is not always better. I for one will for go next year to give others a chance to go and that's what it should be about. I really enjoyed the event and made some new friends but hope to meet up at some of the smaller Frog events. I realize lots have issues with units but seems like some folk taking advantage from year to year. Just my two cents worth. BTW from what I heard you all may be in for a big surprise next year getting into rally do to massive road construction. You all enjoy. Later RJD

Unfortunately, the fairgrounds are unavailable for the entire month of July because of the fair. It's a really big deal, drawing over a quarter of a million people this year. (And that was down about 25,000 from last year because of the extreme heat for the first few days.)

The fair ends on July 30 next year. (August 1 this year.) Trying to make the transformation from the fair to the FROG Rally is a backbreaking effort, with our parking crew starting to come in on Monday while they're trying to take down carnival rides, tents, vendors, and more; convert the buildings from their own uses to ours; clean the grounds and mow the grass; lay out temporary electric and water lines; and much more over about a three to four day period.

That's the reason that we're moving to a week later.

That number of 1,000 gets tossed out a lot. It's the number that Pete sometimes mentions, as in:

BOB: "It looks as if we'll be at about 700 this year. That's up about 40% from last year."
PETE: "That's great! Terrific! What will it take to get to 1,000?"

As a matter of fact, there are three factors that limit our attendance:

1) The availability of electricity and water. There are hundreds of acres where we can park, but only limited power and water. A new transformer was added to provide temporary sites for the fair, but those were nearly 1/2 mile from where we have most of our activities.

2) Space for meals. We pretty much maxed out the building for meals this year. We're looking at other possibilities, but don't yet know how practical those ideas are.

3) Service. We had well over 300 service techs on the grounds this year, and about 350 including some of our component suppliers such as Lippert, Dexter, Dometic, Dicor, and others. We shut down our service centers and some of the production lines in several factories. At the rate of 300 technicians for 700 RVs, we'd need to go to 500 for 1,000 RVs. That level of service also explains why we have no plans to hold this event anywhere but in Goshen, where we have about 45 production plants and service centers within about a 30-minute drive.

Whichever of those three components produces the lowest practical limit becomes our actual limit for the event. Please don't throw around the 1,000 number, because it probably won't happen under current circumstances.

Thought you might want to know.

I'm curious why we have not seen more Wildcats these past three years. Supposedly they were Forest Rivers best selling fifth wheel.

Plan on this phat phrog next year regardless of date.
I see you rejected my attempt to "register"
I assume it's a clerical error on my end !
I guess I'll wait like the rest.
Btw I want Glenn out of my spot!
