I don’t see the free repairs as a reason to go. They are a perk.

Unless I buy new before next year, this year will be my last year of free repairs. I still plan on attending next year. There are many more better reasons to go than free repairs.

I'll second that. The seminars, the vendors, the new friends were all great...yes, I didn't mind the factory service. Apparently the 2 items I wanted fixed weren't a big deal to them and they asked if I had anything else...why, yes...yes, I do...BAM! fixed. Now, I'm sure the extra fixes weren't supposed to be fixed, but the crew I had didn't seem to mind. Yeah, I'll have my 2 items for them this year...and, just in case they're in the mood, I'll have my extras ready.[emoji4]

We just can’t see driving 2,000 miles for a chance at dry camping. Last year it was ten days total, 2 extra nights camping on the way and 2 back, 4 nights. The reason we went last year was because we had met a friend at a rally Bob had in Florida. We went to spend some time with them. The food is not the best but when you are feeding that many people you can’t expect better. I knew a lot of people just went for the service which was fine, a lot of people just went for the rally. You know some people will complain of people that just go for the service but I bet that when free service was going on there was very, very few people that turned down the free service. I don’t blame anyone for not going to the rally or for those that go just for the rally. But I guarantee that if Forest River still gave free service the rally would have already filled up. The rally would have filled up before now and there would be a waiting list. I really thought that Forest River would cheap out this year and not give any free service, they placed more restrictions on the service they offer for free. Maybe I’ll see some people from the rally in restaurants in the area or at Walmart. I hope everyone has a blast at the rally. Make sure you wear your name tags so I’ll know

No one at the Rally is there without utilities. There is water electric at every site. And there is sewer hook up at several sites! Sewer pump out service is offered mid week, to those of us that may not get a site with a sewer hook up.
The food, in my opinion was terrific, and as you have pointed out several times, there are many outstanding places to eat in town.
The ‘service’ is a sweet bonus that Forest River provides at the Rally, and owners are very grateful for all they do above and beyond those requests.

Opinions are like something else, everybody’s got one. Without sewer it’s dry camping to us. You are right there are many outstanding places to eat at in town but that’s out of pocket. The service is only if your camper is only two years old at the rally, my camper is four years old. I plan on going by the Cedar Creek factory in Topeka to tell some people there how appreciated there are for us. The people at the Cedar Creek factory have been very, very good to us and whenever I am close to the factory I make a point to visit the factory to express how I feel. Again I hope all the people that go to the rally have a blast.

OK, so my opinion of dry camping is not having a 50-foot Class A with three air conditioners, 5 TV, a full kitchen with real home appliances, and a maid.

I’ll be dry camping in my R-Pod that week!

They even fixed 3 things for me last year. Jim, who caravanned with me to the rally last year noticed my rooftop vent flapping all over the place (and even videoed it). When I showed that to the service people, they added it as a 3rd repair.

The most important thing about the rally is the cool people—including the service personnel.

Where you are parking, it will be "beneficial" to bring a 4 tap water manifold as each faucet must feed 4 campers so if the first camper in mounts one, the next three can hook up without disturbing the water supply of everyone else.

The site where you will camp have 50 AMP and 30 AMP sockets. TWO of you will need to connect with a dog bone. You should buy a 50 to 30 amp dog bone if you do not already have one.

Get ready to RALLY!

Last year we were placed in a site on the edge of the park. And, while we enjoyed the convenience of a full hookup, I was wondering if there is a way to secure a spot with other MiniLites? We have a 2017, 2304KS. I have done over 40 mods, Including a collapsible/shelf and headboard for the Murphy bed. I have shared myplans and photos with over 50 members so far and I would love to show them to others As well as to plagiarize other interesting mods.

New question - I know they have factory tours and since this is my first visit, do we sign up for those once we are there? Inquiring minds want to know

If you're selecting a tour, be sure to select the number of tickets that you need. We've sometimes had someone select "1" thinking that it's a tour for both members of the couple, only to discover later that they only have one ticket and the tour is sold out.

Also, note that it's only possible for a person to take one tour in a day because the times overlap. You can, though, elect to have you and your spouse take separate tours on the same day by selecting 1 ticket for each of the two tours.

FACTORY TOURS:

Factory tours are not yet scheduled because one of the considerations that we use in scheduling them is how many of a particular brand of RV are attending. We won't know that until after registration closes. Unfortunately, that can create some conflicts between area tours that you've scheduled and factory tours that you might want to take.

My understanding is that parking by brand is done so only on a very limited basis, but one way could be to arrange an arrival time with other MiniLite rally goers. It is actually easier to park a group together, if they all show up at the same time. Parking crew leaders... please correct if I'm misinforming.

Yes! Upon arrival at the fairgrounds, you will check in at the front gate with the parking team, who will escort you to your site and help you get parked. On-site registration will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, beginning (I THINK) at 10:00 each day. At on-site registration, you will pick up your badges, optional tour tickets (if you booked any of the optional tours), and a welcome packet of information, schedules, etc. Also at on-site registration, you can sign up for factory tours and, if you are so inclined, volunteer for one or more of the myriad of jobs that need to be done to make the rally run smoothly: Driving one of the six-passenger shuttle carts (3 hour shifts), putting up and taking down chairs in the seminar areas, working in the FROG "office" in the vendor building (lost & found, information, tour ticket bought and sold, etc.), working in the dining room to set out salads and deserts before meals, and more. All of those volunteer opportunities will be explained and can be signed up for at on-site registration.
