Alabama BamaGanza October 15-18 2015

Soooooo....over lunch today I drafted and sent a email to the Gadsden director of parks and recreation asking about Noccalula Falls Park. Turns out this is a county park, so we will see what their requirement are.

As we grow past a "Home Grown" FROG event and move toward a rally that could potentially have 100+ attendees we MAY need to take advance reservations (the park may require a non-refundable deposit and/or other funds in order to secure our rally site.

I have tentatively set the rally dates for 9-12 October (Columbus Day Weekend) I say tentatively, because we may already be too late - the park may already be reserved for that weekend.

I will post to the list when I hear back from the Parks Director. Additionally, I will post the the email list I developed for last years BamaGanza.

Anne-Marie and I have a a fair amount of experience running large camping events and the one thing we DO know is many hands make light work 😉so it's time for ya'll to look at your calendar and, if you plan to attend, consider volunteering to help with the Rally. Off the top of my head, here are some positions that will need to be filled:

RV Vendor liaison (contact RV dealers in area for door prizes and possible demos)
Registration desk assistance
Parking coordinator
BBQ side dish coordinator
Nightly pot luck coordinator

Regarding the BBQ and Pot Luck coordinator - Forest River corporate will provide us the meats and fixin's for our Saturday night BBQ. The side dish coordinator will keep track of who is bringing what 👮

It occurred to me that if we are gonna camp over several nights together, we might as well coordinate nightly pot lucks rather than hiding out in our rigs like hermits and eating supper alone. The pot luck coordinator will track who is bringing what to the Friday & Sunday potlucks orrrrrr....do we want to have a group dinner at a local restaurant like we did last year? Whatever, that is the Potluck coordinator's job 😎

So there you have it- we are on a roll for October 2015 BamaGanza in Gadsden!

Bob,
Jim said he will be glad to help out with Parking coordinator and I will be happy with the registration desk assistance. We both will be more than happy to help.

BamaGanza '15 UPDATE!

We have a FIRM date for BamaGanga ’15 now!

October 15-18 2015
Noccalula Falls Park, Gadsden AL

Rally cost: Paid directly to the Campground
30/50AMP/Water/Sewage/Cable: $63.51
30 AMP Water (Possibility of cable if you bring a long COAX): $48.39

We are being given a special Club rate of $21.17/day 50 AMP full hookup and $16.13/day 30 AMP/Water.

If you want to arrive early or stay late, these daily fees will apply.

WIFI Available throughout the camp included in site cost.

We will have 2 covered venues:

Haney Hall: Seats 70 indoors,
has a full kitchen with freezer, bathrooms and cable TV

Lighted Park Pavilion: Seats 100+ outdoors
has electricity and BBQ Grills.

The park has a laundry and shower facility.

I had a long and pleasant phone call with the the camp director, Kaila Fair this afternoon. We have made plans for Anne-Marie to visit the park soon

Once we make a site visit, I will post photos for everyone to view.

Of course, Forest River will provide us with our Saturday Night BBQ, and we already have Jamie at Bankston Motor Homes offering door prizes and a meal sponsorship plus there is a bunch of stuff to do in Gadsden so I am confident this will be a GREAT rally to attend!!

(AND I really AM serious about trying to get us a tour of the Goodyear Tire plant if there is enough interest!)

I helped(?) Bob and Anne-Marie with suggestions/ideas/dinner at the first BamaGanza (FROG-abama?), and am ready to be supportive again this time.

FROG Bob

You were quite the help too Bob! (Other) Bob and Anne-Marie, myself and my wife Sandy kept in touch well before last years Bamaganza. ...with all the support, advice and input you gave we were able to have quite a successful rally; of course we want to see growth. We wish to and I'm sure will be able to be able to have another very successful rally with many returning folks from last year as well as many newcomers this year.
Alabama has a lot to offer. ...that being said from folks from Texas. It's just very gratifying to be able to help with a program that enables folks to (FROG) relax, enjoy, share experiences, laugh and just have a great time.
So if you see something during our planning process for this years, or future rallies. ...please, by all means chime in.
You should actually try to fit in your very busy schedule to swing through and visit......just like Motel 6 " we'll leave a light on for ya "

With all that being said. ...Thanks for your help last year, this year and years to come.

Absolutely we did - FROG Sponsored our BamaGanza last year and will be sponsoring our BamaGanza this year! (In fact I made a comment about Forest River Corporate in my OP on BamaGanza '15)

Who knows, maybe we can entice FROG Bob & Cindy to attend this year!

Good idea...make sure the park picked has 50 amp service. Most of the state parks only have 30 amp service, they say the state will not upgrade because of funding. I don't believe the government believes how much cash RV"ers bring into the state, Alabama has so much to offer however it has not been developed and I am not sure why....all the states around us are well developed, Something needs to be done..........

Already checked! Noccalula Falls park has it all! 30/50AMP, sewer, water, Cable (40 stations), WIFI.

Anne-Marie and I plan to drive down tomorrow and meet the staff and take photos (we also plan on eating lunch at Top O' The River - one of the best catfish/seafood places in the state! )

Will post more when we get back!

to the person who takes over the RV dealer invites and door prizes, Don't forget Dandy RV in Anniston (Gerg Henderson) who said he is open for Warranty work, they are too close to leave them out. (I'm a newbie)
