What about last weekend of april for frog rally? A couple of weeks after Easter and almost a month before Memorial day. Just my suggestion.

AL Rally

HSVBOB,

Just saw this. Been a crazy couple of month's. Please count us in on the April Rally. The last weekend of April works for us as well. I will be in Nevada April 10 to the 20th for a Spartan Race!
We had so much fun at the last rally. What is this about being an official FRF Member. Is there something we need to do to be an official member?
My Aviator had been at the Shop ever since the last Rally. Hope to get it back soon. They did fix the Black water wash tank. The Hose was clogged with construction debris. Jamie is awesome. Can not wait to get it back. I'll bring the dulcimer.

Happy Camping,
Carol Earle

Yes I agree it does get to darn hot in the summer in Alabama. So either last weekend of April or better yet. Like we did in October was great. April can be a stormy rainy kinda month. October is nice and cool. That walking track is great to walk in the fall. Jim and I would be more than willing to help out with what ever. We know it is a lot of work to put one of these on. Jamie and Emily want to be in on this as well. They had a really good time as well. Loved the campground!

Happy Camping

Think we need a bigger campground. With all the original Alabama Rally campers and new ones wanting to get in and the ones on waiting list that could not come last year from lack of spots. I think we need a larger campground. I liked Elkmont but we are so limited to just 20 campers. That can keep some of the original Bama Rally campers out and the new ones from being able to join in. We had a great group last year and would like more good folks to be able to join in as well. Just sayin!

Stay with October. ...nice days. ..cool nights. Besides, all you 'Roll Tide' folks wouldn't have any football to watch in April.

Ok so we have a FIRM BamaGanza rally month - OCTOBER!

Now for the hard question - where? Yes, Elkmont was a great site and the owners bent over backwards to accommodate us but...20 units Max - 22 if some double up and that is absolute max capacity.

So...do y'all want me to start looking for larger capacity camps? Do you have a favorite camp we should investigate?

Camp criteria...since y'all are coming from the "Tri-State area " I would like to keep it centralized so that folks from TN, GA, MS don't have too far to drive (sorry FL it's gonna be a drive for you unless you are on the panhandle (and the annual award for longest traveled still go to Dennis and Sandy &#128540

I am willing to bet if we market the rally to the FROG list we can easily get 40 units in this year... so as you think about camp grounds, look at places that can accommodate 45+ units so I will not have to turn away all the last minute registrants 😝😝😝

I was thinking about DeSoto as well Dennis (GMTA &#128521

Also there is a CG down in Gadsden that may work as well - and give a driving break to the LA and FL folks 👍

If we camped in Gadsden, maybe we could arrange a tour of the Goodyear plant LOL!!

(Backstory: rumor has it that this is the last American tire factory to make RV tires)

wherever we can get 40 to 45 units in.......are either of those private or are they parks, as in state or national?

Alabama Frog

We have been to Desoto Falls. It is beautiful 7 waterfalls that you can hike too. Close to look out mountain. A nice little town close by for shopping. It is in the north eastern part of Alabama. It is a State Park. Concrete Pads with very nice bath houses.

Question is, would a state park allow/accommodate a rally? Do they have full hook ups and 50 amp service? Could they provide a pavilion....those would be some of my concerns right off the top.
