I'm riding the fence, we will be attending the Smoky Mountain Jamboree and it looks like 280+ miles to Elkmont. I just have to take a long look at upcoming expenses/income. October is already busy camping-wise.

Hoping you can make it Iowaborn!

It's @ a 4-5 hour drive from Pigeon Forge to Elkmont. Since you have a couple days before the rally, consider camping at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville and touring Huntsville & the Space and Rocket Center!

Also, if you are a Passport America member, the Rally CG will allow you to use your discount until Thursday (full hookup 50AMP for $13 a night is a great price!) - lots of things to see and do in our neck of the woods!

FROG Update

6 Actual and I plan to spend Labor day weekend at the Mill Creek RV Park to meet the owners and take a look around the area.

Park has WIFI so it will be a good "test" of connectivity! Will also be driving around the area to get a better understanding of what is available in the area (they bill themselves as "selling seclusion and peace & quiet") so we are not expecting a Wally World down the street or a mall nearby

Bankston RV in Florence is very friendly. Met Jaime today about warranty work on my Aviator. He really made me feel better about all the repairs that needed to be done. Really hoping it will be ready by this Rally. He seems to think it will be. Maybe Bankston RV they have I know,
three or four dealerships. We are looking forward to coming to this Rally and Making new camping friends.

I am looking forward to meeting Jamie (He and his DW are going to be at the Rally!)

It sounds like I need to modify my opinion on Bankston Writ Large. Sounds like the Florence location is a great crew! Glad they are taking care of you Cjearle! Also looking forward to 'touring' your Aviator at the Rally!

Alabama FROG

Just finished a nice visit with the park owners Mason and Margie. Salt of the earth folks who are looking forward to our FROG rally! The covered hall has a TV and satellite receiver and basic kitchen facilities. It is more than large enough to hold our group!

The park is secluded and very quiet! About 2 miles from the TN border next to a creek that empties into the Elk river. There is a old railroad bridge down the road a ways and a trail from the camp leads to a 1800's era covered bridge!

Did I mention that we are planning a Saturday tour of the Jack Daniels distillery?!

Agenda to follow soon but remember this is a laid back let's get to know folks and play some corn hole sorta weekend!

Here are some photos we took this morning - the blue caboose lets you know you are just about to the left turn into the winding road that leads to the park! I drove with a 40' MH mentality today and see no problems whatsoever no matter what size rig you have (and all the campsites assigned to us are pull through anyway

Hi Bob - Camper_Dan here. Just bought my first TT in July.....a 2015 Greywolf 26BH. I live in Nashville. Would love to come down and start to get involved with FROG. Let me know what you need from me to book me a site for the get2gether.

Also, I have a directv receiver we can use....

Side Note: Everything I learned about TT camping I learned from this forum. It made my first weekend out so much more enjoyable having the right things and right setup, etc.etc. Looking forward to meeting everyone and to start our Southern FROG chapter!

Yes Jaime and his wife took over the Florence location to turn it around. Hopefully everything will turn out great. SO far Happy and Jaime told me they were coming to the rally.

Looking forward to our ALabama Rally,
