Maybe we could keep this thread going, plenty of good CGs in New England(funny I always thought of North East = New England) that lend themselves to group camping.Seems to be a good group of FROGs we should be able get together if not this year we could start planning for next year..Haven't been to the Finger Lakes in years may try that next year

Any interest in a Northeast Rally???

Yeah. I'm originally from Maine. Really like the area in around Lenox MA. Lived in South Attleboro for a year right out of college.

Yeah usually you need a good year to arrange everything. That why I would just call Chenango a FROG gathering vs. a rally. Be nice if more will join in but we will have a good time if it's just ends up being the three of us. I should be getting to the campground around 3:30 or 4 that Friday night.

I thought about taking an extra day off work but with over 50+ nights planned I do not have that much time off. I don't get 50 days of vacation but when you take out weekends, holidays, and sites local that I go right to work from campsite it works out.

In April watching weather and will do last minute reservations local. Last year was complete rainouts.

Chenango Valley FROG

Hi everyone, I found this thread and myself and the DW are interested. It's not too far away from us. We live in central Ny area. We camped at Chenango Valley years ago in our first TT. DW is on call the 22nd and 23rd, but we might be able to go anyway since all the on call stuff is phone or internet related.

frog gathering.....

I have reserved site 112, this will be our first "frog event" and we're excited to meet others. Unless there are extreme circumstances with DW's on call, it should work out fine. We don't often camp in mid summer so this will be different for us.
My older brother has a full service 5 site family campground deep in the woods behind his house, with power/water/sewer/internet/group campfire/sleepable guest treehouse and all. Our rig stays there May 15th through Sept 15th. We usually go to the Adirondacks for a week in May and a week in late Sept. No early trip this year as we're going as a group to Schoodic National Park in Maine this Sept. so we're saving vacation time and pennies for the big trip. So this little diversion at Chenago will be most welcome!

future fingerlakes get toggether

N-E-D, have you ever been to Keuka Lake State Park? I think sites are larger than Watkins Glen and it's easier to manuever in the roads. Another nice park is Samson on Seneca Lake. Very nice areas both of them.

Just a tad parochial, we tend to camp Maine,New Hampshire and Vermont. Went for the Poughkeepsie rail trail last year and stayed at Sylvan Lake Beach CG,very nice, and the bridge walkway over the Hudson was spectacular.Fully retired now so we're branching out applying for passports want to hit Canada this year.
If thats Schoodic Woods NP CG we were there last year, great CG bring a bike or walk the trails, take the ferry from Winter Harbor to Bar harbor the carriage roads are great to walk or bike and the free buses will take you all over the island

Retirement is a ways away right now. We plan for retirement but also live for today.

I was looking more at the website for Chenango. If anyone plays golf they have a golf course there. Swimming, trails, and clubhouse. Facilities look very nice.

Wow I was able to pull those dates off but the "Pats Gear" thing changed my mind. Lol just kidding, if it ends up being the 21-23 I can't make it but I'm sure there will be more trips.

Yes I golf but since I'm in a league and play often I plan on forgoing it unless someone wants to play and needs me to play I will. We are bringing our kayaks and plan to be on the water.

Lol. Wear what you'd like. I'm easy going and enjoy the ribbing. I am already excited about this weekend (meanning our camping weekend) and I haven't even brought my new trailer home yet from the dealer. Lol. We traded our 2006 Coachman Captiva that we bought used from the same dealer a year and a half ago in on the 264ck during a RV show in Feb and said we would wait 'til better weather to bring it home. I am gonna call tomorrow and see if Thursday is a good day for them to hook me up.
