After May 1, temps get just too hot for anyone to have a good time.

Hi All... I'm back

Hi All,
Just got back from 10 days camping in California. It was great weather in Sacramento as well as Del Mar Beach north of Oceanside CA.

OK back to the 2011 trip to Branson MO.
Thank you all for keeping this idea going. I don't want to make this hard on anyone that has to work, weddings, kids, etc.

Thanks that I know I will be doing.
1. I plan on going to Branson MO. for 3 days starting May 1, 2011, Stay 1st, 2nd and 3rd and leave on the 4th.

2. I plan on making my own reservations with Michelle at Americas Best Campground.

3. I plan to tell her others may be joining us but nothing is firm.
If anyone calls just mention that you are part of the Forest River Camping Group.

This may keep us together but no garranty.

4. If someone want to stay less or more time that is fine. We will not have any group plans other than a group meet ing to say hi and meet everyone. From there we can decide a pot luck or other group things. This can be decided when we get there.
This way it will give everyone time to explore Branson on their own or with friends.

This is as much as I know at this moment. September 18, 2010

If we go as a group and call individually it will only cost $27.50 per day. That is by everyone making reservations themselves. $35 is normal rate for full hookup /pull-thrus. I think it is a great daily price.
Here is the email

My name is Michelle Ward and I am the Groups Coordinator here at America's Best Campground. Thank you for your interest in bringing your group here to ABC and we would love to host your rally.

We currently have availability for May 1-4, 2011. If you would give me a call we can work out all the details and get your contract set up.

At this point if you set this group up to pay with one payment the price is $26.00. If you all pay individually it is $27.50 This price is good until the end of the year, so if you set this up now, I can guarantee that rate. The owner has discussed raising the rates for next year, but hasn't said to what.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Here is a campground to look at for the frog campout. The name is Turkey Creek RV Village in Hollister, MO or 5 minutes southeast of Branson. My parents are there now and paying $15.00 a night with free cable TV with their escapees RV club membership. The campground is open to the public. Here are general prices for the everyday person per night for 2 people without tax. Parents say the park is very nice and clean with big sites. The site my parents have is more than large enough for their 30 foot Montana with 2 glides and F350 crew long wheel base to fit and not have the truck end out in the road. Parents noted last sunday took 30 minutes to go 2 miles in downtown Branson due to so many people in town.Full Hookup Sites30 amp daily$20.50*50 amp daily$21.50*30 amp weekly$115.00*50 amp weekly$127.00**plus tax, based on two people per RV
Here is the link for the campground for whoever is interested with telephone number and the prices I posted above.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but I think I’m going to pass on the rally in Branson. If anyone would like to do one in the Elkhart/ Goshen area over the summer for 2011 or 2012, I would be glad to contact FR and see if they would sponsor it. Maybe do some factory tours at the various factories, see about how to clinics, etc. I could also check out the local campgrounds in person and make recommendations.

Elkhart would have my vote. I'd like to see the factory, maybe get a sweatshirt from FR.
We'll show up wherever it happens to be, most important to me would be meeting the people behind some of the profound advise on this form.
As posted earlier, have a lot of irons in the fire for next year so the sooner we nail down a date the better for me.

if people are interested, (I have to take my trailer into the factory for warranty work next Tuesday) I will ask the plant manager and warranty manager about who to talk to about FR sponsoring a rally and we will take it from there.

Pismo is nice but Lake Lopez is better and they have nice little circle campsites there. When you get off to go to Pismo instead of going left go right through Arroyo Grande. And the prices are good. We went there this summer with friends from church and had a good time. 30 mins to Pismo from Lake Lopez. I would be interested depending on when, first part of my summer full.

Somewhere in the middle of the US would be better for us East-coasters. Maybe if there is a substantial turn out we could get some people from Forest River's factories to come and maybe provide guidance and maintenance/repairs like the Freightliner people do at their rallies. Just a thought.

We're interested

Not sure if this is still alive, Iggy, but we are interested in a possible rally for 2011. Both of us work, so we would have to plan around that. I kind of like the idea of camping in Forest River's back yard. Keep us in mind. Always nice to meet new people with similar interests. Just me an my darling bride.

Just to throw some ideas out.
Time frame May 2011 someplace l warmer like Tuscon AZ, or San Antonio Texas comes to mind. No snow and nice temps.

Any suggestioned location for May 2011?
Casa Grande AZ, April or 1st of May. We're in Sundance1 RV Park until then. Great place to meet.
