Bob posted this less than one month ago on the Forest River Forum and I quote;
“For the record, the directive of not further splitting up the parking by brand came from Pete in a meeting that I had with him prior to the 2015 FROG Rally. I told him that I'd already made some commitments to a couple of the prior-existing clubs, and he said to honor any commitments that I'd already made. We will not be further splitting up the parking by brand.
I received a suggestion yesterday or Friday that next year we park all diesels together. I don't plan to do that.”
I believe (I could be wrong) the prior-existing clubs he mentioned are, the Cardinal Club, the Cedar Creek RV Owners Club, and the R-Pod club. It may also include the Columbus Club. What I understand from his post is if you form a new club (Wildcat owners, Salem owners, Sanibel owners, Diesels R Us, etc.) he probably isn’t going to group you together at Goshen.
Right now I think FROG Bob is probably more concerned with the Elkhart RV Open House for RV dealers which I believe opens tomorrow. I think they are expecting over 4000 to attend this year.

Well Bob you said you did not say that.
So lets ask point blank.
Will the existing clubs be allowed to stay in the villages as we did this year?

Sure hope DDURNELL from RVWholesalers is there and decides to carry the Berkshire and/or Charleston lines.
Would eventually like to move into a "home on wheels" and get rid of the basement one day soon.

Its getting rid of 66 years of hobbies that has me worried.

And at this point I assume that there's no point in my discussing it further and being misquoted again.

Very well, it seems. You DO know that each attendee has their name, unit info and location recorded in a master list.
It's not like the techs are aimlessly wandering up and down the roads looking for a certain unit like Diogenes looking for an honest man. They have computers and printouts and all kinds of high-tech stuff that gets them where they need to be.
This whole argument about making is easier/more efficient for the techs really is nonsense.

this is to bob and sandy dyer who posted from northern orange county California and show having a cardinal 5th wheel. I used to live in huntington beach and now live in payson Arizona and also have a cardinal. may I ask about your trip back to then the rally? how long did it take you to get there? how many miles do you go per day? do you have any concerns towing the cardinal that distance? we'd like to go but are a bit apprehensive about going that distance. any experiences you care to share would be appreciated. thank you

I believe he answered your question. His post and Oakman's follow up seemed pretty definitive. Perhaps he decided to let it drop ....

That's Hilarious Lou - Anne-Marie and I have the same tree!
Oh and we stole a very cool idea from Bob & Cindy:
Go to Home Depot/Lowe's and buy one of those 16" Diameter plywood circles, craft or buy a large beanbag then...
When you park your Berk, move the steering wheel as horizontal as it will go, put the beanbag on the lower part of the wheel, the plywood circle on top, drape with a tablecloth and *poof& you have a nice table!
When I get back to the coach tonight I will post a pict...

I've been following this conversation and from what I can tell, reservations won't be available until January. Does that sound correct?

Nope. More likely the last few days of March or the 1st few days of April. If you haven't already, join at this site [ Forest River Owners Group - The official owner's group of Forest River RV, manufacturer of world-class recreational vehicles. ] to get timely info. when it's published.

Hello,
Thank you for bringing the thread back to topic.
Registration is in March. Frog Bob and FROG worked on a new registration system last year which delayed it a bit. I would make sure I check back on the FROG site in the New Year.

This is not the week we'd prefer to have, but that week has already been booked for an activity since four years ago. This means that, as has been the case until this year, the fairgrounds staff will have to begin laying out electric and water lines the day after the fair ends. That week will also be needed for tearing down carnival rides and tents, setting up buildings for dinners and vendors, mowing grass, re-locating tables and chairs from other areas of the fairgrounds, and much more. We'll be coming in with parking and registration crew that week as well.
Early arrivals well be severely limited that week. For those who called to arrive on Wednesday and decided to show up on Monday because they just happened to be in the area, they'll be politely(?) turned away. I'll be meeting with the fair staff again to see whether we can allow early arrivals on Wednesday or whether we need to allow another day for setup. (Early parking helps to relieve the crunch on the weekend, but limits setup time for the staff fairgrounds staff.)
For those who have asked about moving to other months, this is the ONLY week available on the entire calendar of the fairgrounds. There are two times that we could run from mid-week to mid-week, but that creates several problems, such as taking away weekends for travel time; having the event run across a Sunday when none of the Amish managers and technicians would be available to work; introducing holiday hours and requiring staff to give up their holiday weekend; and more.
The entire month of July is blacked out on the fairgrounds' calendar for fair preparations and the fair itself.
Registration will likely open around the first week of April again next year. We'll be working on possible methods to avoid having all of the reservations fill up again in the first couple of days, and will be announcing something on that after the first of the year.
