Like Herk said they will schedule it. The Tiki Hut is currently at the factory getting work done that could not be completed at the fairgrounds. I delivered it to them Nov 4th now I just have to wait until it is repaired. I chose to have mine delivered after my camping season was done.

I'll be be glad when the reservation window is open. I hope to stay there a few days before the rally and a few days after. Not at the rally campground

While at the Goshen Rally, is the 3 items repair only for the original owner? Or can a second owner also have the repairs done? My son is looking at purchasing a used unit.

The answer is NO only the original owner can get repairs done....

I'll let FROG Bob give the definitive answer, but I am not so sure. How would Forest River know if a Owner was the "Original" owner?

They probably won't. But like all things, once the 'free service' program started getting abused, we are likely to see it disappear.

I think a little bit of self-policing against abusing the system might keep this valuable service from going the way of the 8-track

Keith, unfortunately there's not a 100% cut-and-dried answer. We give some discretion to the divisions on this. We will take care of any recall items and serious safety issues on used units within reason, but the emphasis is on original owners. We can verify that status by referring to the original registration submitted when a unit was sold new at retail.

Part of the problem with used units is that typically neither we nor the current owner has any idea of the maintenance that has (or hasn't) been done on a unit or the scope of what an issue might be. In addition, as someone mentioned above, we've also had growing abuse of the system, with some known instances where sellers -- and even a dealer or two -- has sold a unit with known issues, and told the buyer that they'll offer a really good price, and the new owner can just come to Goshen and have any problems fixed for free.

One of my best (or maybe worst, depending on your point of view) is a call that I received one evening last year on the very day that we'd had our first service meeting for the 2016 FROG Rally and discussed this topic. A woman called and said that she'd heard that we fix RVs for free at Goshen and asked what kind of work we do. Alarms went off, and I told her that we do lots of things, maybe more than we should, and asked her to tell me what she had in mind. She asked if we do engine work, suspension, body work, and other items. It turned out that she and her husband had bought a 1989 Class A -- yes, 28 years old -- the year before, and "have had lots of issues with it." When I asked if she just wanted us to go through it bumper-to-bumper and fix anything that we found wrong, she asked, "Is that the kind of thing you do?" I told her "not only no, but h**l no."

The wording on the service request form last year was something along the lines of, "Priority will be given to original owners of units less than five years old." (I don't have the form with me to check the exact wording.) Beyond that, the individual divisions will have discretion, and I will not attempt to override them.

Hope this helps.

Actually, Keith, we're on the road and the signal dropped as I was about to hit "submit," so it was a type once, fuss, type again, copying into Word as I went along in case it dropped again, and then submit.

If I need it again, it will most assuredly be a copy/paste!

And, BTW, the story about the lady with the 1989 Class A is absolutely true. She's now in first place, having bumped my prior experience with the guy who had been to an RV show and had seen a trailer seven years newer and about 14 feet longer than his. It had two entrances, which he liked, so he wanted us to cut a hole in the side of the trailer, add a second door, rebuild the interior cabinetry for access, and cut the frame to add a second set of steps. In case anyone else has the same request: NO.

So... Getting Forest River to change injectors on my tow vehicle is out of the question, eh?

R.J., I really don't see why that should be a problem. If you need fuel injectors for it, we should have some slightly used ones left over from replacing Tim's.

Oh, yeah, I can see this working out really well.
