BombDoc's take on Goshen

After taking a leisurely trip from SC to IN (3 days), I have just completed the return trip in 2 days, needless to say, my rear is feeling the two day 500 mile trips, but it was well worth it....

I can't say enough about the Forest River service crews and the Lippert Component install teams. Phenomenal is an understatement. I had slide out toppers installed, JT Strongarms, had help installing an Progressive EMS and so many things done by the service crew to list. Forest River has my business for life. The definition of customer service should simply be "Forest River", to try and explain it would be too lengthy, just plan to attend the rally next year, you won't regret it!

As for the friends we met, you couldn't ask for a better group of people and I feel honored to be included as a "Phat Phrog". I can't begin to list the names of all of them because I would surely leave someone out and feel horrible, they are a great group and I look forward to meeting them again somewhere down the road.

The entire experience was great and I'd turn around and do it next week if I could.

Thank you all!

Thanks BD!! Sounds like you were very impressed!! It is about the same distance from Denver. Just to much for me at the first of the month. DW is an Accountant and that is the busy time.

I am impressed! I forgot to mention the great job Frog Bob and Cindy did putting this all together. From meals, to events, seminars, etc., it was top notch. Hope one day you can make it to this rally, you won't regret it!

I sure want too!! I will hopefully get to soon!! Maybe the DW will be an Exec. next year and get to take a few days off during the rally!!

I am IT and can work from anywhere I have an internet connection!!

Do they allow motorized vehicles for movement around the establishment other than golf carts?

I have side by sides!

Not sure what side by sides are. I saw golf carts, bicycles, scooters, and motorcycles. As long as it's street legal, I don't think you'd have an issue.

Bomb Doc, it was great meeting you and yes we all had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year. We gained friends and contacts that will help us in planning future trips and that's what's great about the RV life style. Looking forward to seeing you both again. Safe travels

Glad to have met all of you as well in the neighbourhood. Again a list too long to forget but being close neighbours too Lou and Laura, Neil and Frankie, dumpster diving with Youroo were certainly tops. Beer tasting with the Phrogs Turbs, dblr, Aquaman, RV Chick et el was a blast. Mod discussions with OC, Herk, Forbes (who I find out is also a broadcast engineer as well) was fun. So many people to say hi too along the camping road!

We used bikes to get around but were fortunate to be closer to event than some other sites.

Dogs seem to break down barriers at the rally and more people start talking about things because of them. In fact one person (Beth) wanted to take ours home! Ha ha.

We had a crew of hard working amish techs working on our unit. They put axle lift kit on which performed flawlessly on the way home, towing level and all TT tires the same load. They also changed the slide slippers, fixed a rear metal skirt that i had bent, changed LED lights that were recalled for TV reception issues.

Cheers

Our first visit and I was nervous about how we looked pulling in with a 2014 model with all the dings, bent rear stabilizer, scratched side, broken handle holder and awning arms that were almost torn off. After the techs got finished with it we left with our new unit looking like it was new.

As for transportation around the fairground there was a toy hauler in our row that brought 2 ATVs and used them a lot to get around.

Lastly, my hat is off to Bob and his helpers who put on a great week of education, entertainment and comradrie. Thanks Bob!

Its all inside a gated fairgrounds. I didn't see any side by sides but as long as its not loud I wouldn't expect complaints. Big area.

CMS Retired,

You and your DW need to make plans to attend the Texas FROG Rally at Kerrville this October.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...s-59141-2.html

We were fortunate enough to get down there last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lori and Dan did an amazing job hosting the rally, with Vicki and Paul providing a great deal of help.

Buckhorn Lake RV Resort is a beautiful CG, and the entire Texas Hill Country offers a variety of activities, sights to see, and interesting places to visit.

Great to have met you in Goshen. Safe travels...hope our paths cross again soon.

Hi Cheezepack,
Actually it wasn't that difficult to create all that havoc with our new unit. All I had to do was not pay attention to what I was doing. The rear stab...I lifted the front end while the rear was down...the scratches, handle, and awning supports were almost torn off when I vacated a campground and got to close to a 10 yard garbage container with those big handles on the side.
There were other issues like the bottom falling off on our way to Phoenix and the side crank out window almost falling off when it came off the track but...what the heck, one has to have some interesting experiences with their first towable.
But most importantly, my wife, the dogs and I love it. We have camped out at least 120 nights sine 2/6/14 and will leave for Phoenix right after Christmas...snow permitting.
