Branson 2013 Again?

Anyone out there interested in a FROG gathering in Branson, MO again? Joyce and I were thinking it would be fun to have a get together around the first week of June for 3 or 4 days.

I know it’s hard to plan for an event that far off but with the popularity of family-friendly Branson, long term planning is almost required for a group get together. Joyce and I would be willing to do any planning and coordinating for a FROG gathering.

I thought I’d throw this feeler out and see if there is enough interest.

Hay we are planning to go to the rally in August in Indiana, why not make it right before for us Southern Folk who have to travel as a stop over before? If "NOT" that's okay too. But that would be a great extended trip Oakman. Thanks for the idea and taking the lead... lets have some fun !!!!!!

Excellent. The early responses are better than I expected. I think we can pull this off.

I like your idea of combining rallies but I think we will have to stick with June for Branson. The reason I picked early June is because of the weather temperatures. By late July early August the temps in MO can soar to the upper 90’s or higher and with very the high humidity any outdoor activity can be uncomfortable.

To give you an example of the temps, this photo of our weather station was taken on Aug 7th 2011 while we were at Table Rock State park. The park is just a few miles south of Branson. Notice the time of day on the display and yes, the outside temperature probe was in the shade. Nope, we didn’t have any campfires on that trip.

Branson 2012

I want to thank all of you who have offered to help. As soon as Oakman and I know what needs to be done, we might be asking for help.

Thanks again and I think this should be fun.

We would be interested in Branson get together, but would depend on where my work demand is, early June would likely be OK unless early Wheat Harvest as we had this year. in 6 years won't matter, I should be retired

Thumbs up

Oakman are you thinking of some private campground in Branson, or are you thinking of T.R.S.P. with full hookups, or even W/E water front sites near Branson? We can always camp where we want and get together at a location to visit and chat(option). If you thinking about the state park or Old Hwy 86 C.O.E. campground, both have pavilions to meet at. Plus traveling into Branson to the Landing or Silver Dollar City, you can bypass the bottle necks on Hwy 76. Several things to do around there that do not cost anything such as Dewey Short Visitors Center, trout hatchery below the dam, etc.

Bob great idea of yours to get this going. Bev and I just loved Branson and often talk about returning but we also want to do the Indiana rally also (I need to get my counter tops replaced they are only fit for stacking bananas on) Only problem is 2 trips from BC ain't going to work for us so if they were closer together, either side of Indiana would be helpful. I see there is one other FROG in the same boat, maybe more. Are the Indiana dates set in stone yet?

Nigels, I have talked to Bob Mr. F.R.O.R. when I was making my reservations for the January Rally in Florida. He told me that the dates are set for Indiana. He said that the reg. info will be out in January, or maybe late Dec. We are planning on that rally to, just do not know if we can make two big trips like that. I 'am still thinking how I could do both. I have always wanted to go to Branson. We will have to wait until more details come out. We can only be gone for so long. He also said that he was hoping to have the forms with him in Florida.

Sounds good Bob. I will run it by Joanne tonight and also see what Fran and Bud are up to then. We really should have some Canadians there again if possible. (Just to let Bob F.R.O.G. know that we are truely international) It would also be great to see Nigel and Bev again and of course everyone that was there the first time. Campground isn't that important but it might be nice to give A.B.C. a shot at putting together a deal for us if they can accomodate everyone, as they did such a nice job for us last time. Hope we can make it again this time. Old Guys.....Brian and Joanne.

LOL poor Bob Byrne, another quick jab about the first International Rally that he probably didn't see coming. I wonder if we could talk him into joining us? He and Cindy could probably use a break from organizing all those big rallies.

BTW old guys, I just received rally info from ABC in the mail today. I'll be calling them to see if they have any dates available.
