Tours are welcome but I was referring to my present camper as home. It has no frills, no slide outs but it works for camping for one. For a small unit it has a good size bathroom. Not that I spend a lot of time in it but after using the bathroom in my brother's 5th wheel I really can appreciate the knee space in my TT bathroom.

Hello this is Cuffhim85. I'm having a heck of a time navigating this forum, LOL. Anyhow, we are in for all festivities, Ghost Town Tour etc... My wife wil be bringing or should I say making Pasta Salad for the potluck. Please let me know if this made it to you and if you can, let me know where all the post for this trip can be found.

Thanks,

Tim

Okay it worked, LOL. Anyhow, we visited my son, daughter in-law and grandson this past weekend in Vegas. Both are currently in the Air Force, stationed at Nelles. We stopped by Calico Ghost Town on our way home. We were very impressesed with the set up and look very forward to this weekend. Since check in is 1600 hours, I assume we can arrive early, pay and park somewhere prior to going to our site? I thought I saw RV parking past the guard station, is that correct.

Your guess is as good as any- it will be first time there for most of us. It will be fun though.

Calico said early arrivals can park in the over flow section until the campsite opens up. Not sure what you meant by pay? Your camping reservation covers admittance to the Ghost Town. Check your reservation letter for more details. There is one section to the left of the check-in booth but most of us are in a section around the bend to the right.

I camped at Calico a couple years ago but I can't offer much help. I arrived at camp not feeling well and became sick during the trip.

All the posts for Calico is in this thread.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at Calico later this week!
If you have any questions please let us know.

Thursday: Most FR members will be arriving this day.

Friday: Night Ghost Tour @ 8pm

Saturday: 8:00 am breakfast at Peggy's Sue
Saturday: Scavenger Hunt - afternoon
Saturday: Potluck Dinner, time TBD

Pending: Group picture, train ride, mine tour. Did I miss anything?

Misc. info:
I camped a couple years ago at Calico. As for cell service I only found a signal at the parking area by the check-in booth except for last day which was none. I have T-Mobile. I didn't pick up any channels with the antenna. Sites are on dirt so leveling blocks might be needed. There is a gas station closed by but I don't remember if it's RV friendly or not. As a rule of thumb I always fill up the gas tank after unhitching. I just took the truck without the travel trailer to fill up. Sorry but I don't have any idea oh what stuff is sold in the little 'ghost town'. It's a drive but there's a town/city with a Wal-Mart that not too far from Calico.

We'll bring a vegetable platter and we're up for the night tour.
