I believe the town is in walking distance but some may prefer to drive. I'm happy to offer rides.

If I'm reading this correctly it sounds like there's going to be another driver to take riders to the ghost town.

We are camping at Calico Ghost Town right now. You will all certainly enjoy it. The timing of our trip from Indiana to Monterey, CA and back didn't allow for us to join your rally. But this is a neat place and we enjoyed our visit in the "town" today. Tomorrow, we head to Needles then continue east to be home in a couple of weeks. Have a great rally!!

Do you have any tips for us and is the town within walking distance from campsites?

There are 2 camping areas. The one we are staying in is within walking distance of the ghost town. But it appears you may be staying in the other one. It looks newer and a nice area for the group. It is walking distance to the cemetery but farther to the village. There are 3 eating places in the ghost town. But also a couple of diners and a Dairy Queen and Subway at the interstate exit. Just FYI, we ate a great lunch at "Idle Spurs Restaurant" in Barstow---about 6 miles away. It was a delicious food. Highly recommend.
( many of you may not need this info, but they charge $1.00 for a shower)

Ok...programming note: the Saturday night ghost tour has been bumped to Friday night at 8 pm.

Saturday morning breakfast is 8 am at Peggy Sue's diner.

Scavenger hunt Saturday afternoon.

Group pot luck on Saturday night 5pmish. Don't forget your dish!

Since my scheduling conflict has been canceled, I just booked space A02 for Friday and Saturday. With the Ghost tour Friday night, Brenda and I will try to be there early enough to go, and I'm always up for breakfast.

Glad you are able to join us in the fun! I'm arriving Friday too but everyone else will be there on Thursday. Sometimes work gets in the way....

Looks like it will be a full campground. Turns out the the Cub Scouts are having an event also. Guess I will have to be on my best behavior as a happy camper!

Saw that too. Went from forecast of rain to 85+. Doing the same thing here, getting ready. Going to get Woodstock tomorrow I think to load up and leave Thursday morning and just cruise.

After 106 today I got to say that 85 is looking pretty good to me. I always keep a variety of clothing in my trailer in case the weather is different than expected.

I went to the RV show in Pomona and found two TTs that I liked. Each one was missing a key feature that the other unit had otherwise I might had been arriving at Calico with a new RV. However, my piggy bank is still intact.

It's tough going window shopping and coming back with a whole new box around the new window! Lol

Fight the urge!

Once I set foot inside my little camper I always think "I'm home!".
