You can't drive down one street and judge an entire community.
Hemet is an old town and yes, there are some depressed areas but, it is definitely NOT a ghetto.
My wife and I live here, and there are several age 55+ communities and plenty of history.
The Ramona Bowl has an annual play, there are museums, street fairs, restaurants, golf courses and activities galore if you look for them.
Golden Village Palms (Golden Village Palms RV Resort – Golden Village Palms RV Resort in Hemet California) is an extremely nice park and hosts many different RV Clubs like the Annual Elks Rally, FMCA, SMART, and this is the second year for FROG.
They host our neighbors from the North every year and have several musical band tributes every year.
Please post positive remarks, and if you have questions, feel free to contact me directly.
Thank you.

Yea. You are right Gerry. It's not. If you live there. Yea. I drove to that park the other day it is nice. But I do not recommend driving down Florida and San Jacinto near the hospital. I work in LE and Hemet is one our favorite city's to work. Lol. Don't get all up set that it has a bad rap. Now as for the park it is nice. But if you want places to vist go to wine country in Temecula or Old Town Temecula. Very low crime rate.

We are going to try and set up a wine country tour from GVP, but it may be expensive $25-$30 Per Person.
I agree that there are nicer, newer communities in the area but they don't have a facility large enough to host a large rally.
The hope is to grow this to a SoCal version of Goshen and there are few parks that are affordable and willing to have large numbers of RVers.

That's not a bad price for the wine tours. Wine tours are very fun. Did you ever try to do Pechanga? They have group rates. Its my favorite place to camp. I am going to try to make it to this outting. It looks like a nice big park. Don't take me the wrong way I just been working this area for a long time. That's all. And what plant is in Hemet? I know the stealth plant is off the 10. But did not know forest river had a plant in Hemet. That would be cool take a tour.

This was an older plant that they bought from another manufacturer, refurbished it and the were making either wildwoods or wildcats- I don't remember. I was trying very hard not to be in the employees way. It was in Hemet. The one in Rialto makes stealthy, evos and something else.

The first building is travel trailers. The second one was just in beginning stages of refurbishing and I thought it was for 5th wheels. Rumor mill is saying that FR will be buliding/buying a class a plant for MH's.

Iggy posted this last year from the FROG newsletter:

"General Manager Ty Miller, who oversees both the existing Forest River operations in Rialta, CA and the new facilities in Hemet, says that eventually the site will produce not only Salem, Wildwood, and Evo travel trailers, but Stealth, Shockwave, and Sandstorm toy haulers as well."

Need to know as the original message you said May 26th - 31st.

You may also need to ask the Administrators here if they could add the location and the dates in the title of the 1st message to help people find it quickly.

John
The site team would be happy to assist if more details are needed in the opening post or somewhere else.

I think I replied in another thread, but hubby and I will be there. We pre-registered before we left for home last year.

Smile California Here We Come Update

Golden Village Palms reserved 30 spots for us, and we currently have 20 signed up.
If you haven't sent me an e-mail as yet for the rally, please do so I can request more spaces as we need them.
The wine tasting has been cancelled since the Limo Companies are all involved in Graduation for the schools in the area and it would make the price too high for the wineries.
We are still looking forward to touring the factory again and individuals can still go to a few of the wineries on their own.
Remember, if you haven't sent me an email, please do.
Thanks

Palm Springs has a VillageFest on Thursday, 5/26, with 200 booths of arts, crafts and food. Free admission and runs from 6:00-10:00 pm. Some of the rally attendees went last year and said it was worth the 30 minute drive. We didn't make it last year, but plan on going this year. Villagefest on Palm Canyon Drive every Thursday in Palm Springs - The official downtown website of Palm Springs VILLAGEFEST

Smile California Here We Come Update

We're currently up to 24 reservations and looking forward to more!
Steve and Paula posted the information on the Palm Springs Street Fair just 40-45 minutes away on Thursday evening. Lots of things to see and places to eat.
I would also like to add the College of the Desert Street Fair on Saturday morning, on Monterey Drive in Palm Desert.
We're planning still, so keep an eye on the Frog Forum for updates.
