It looks like all we need is someone to take the lead this year. I am more than willing to help out, but work has me very busy. A southern rally is out of my area. Just not familiar with any good locations.

Last years rally was a lot of fun, thanks Simplyrwc. All it takes is someone to take the lead

What would be great would be to have an Arizona Rally either starting or ending a few days on either side from a California rally. Those traveling could hit both Rally's and really have fun. We would be very interested in something like this. But around the Goshen Rally time.

Then the event would have to be at a higher altitude location like flagstaff. It would be no fun at say lake havasu in August and we all burst into flame as we leave our trailers!

Great idea of duel rallies but I would consider the downside of around the same time period as the Goshen Rally. For many of us in California the Goshen Rally is a no-go for many of us due to school conflicts in early August. Registration started in late July at my high school.

It stays hot here until mid-late October.

Hmm....an all hallow's eve rally? Sound like a theme.

Maybe we should ask if west coast FR would even be willing to put up with us for a week first?

For some reason I do like the idea of a Halloween theme. It sounds like fun.

I've thinking of camping at Calico Ghost Town next year when Halloween falls on a Saturday.

Oooooo... That's only three hours away from me! It will conflict with my end of month responsibilities but lets see what happens.

We're working right now on events in Tucson, AZ the first week of March and in Hemet, CA over Memorial Day weekend and a couple of days leading up to it. More information will be posted on the FROG website at www.forestriverfrog.com/events as well as on the FRF and on the Facebook page.

I may be able to attend the Hemet, ca event. Probably a 5 hour pull from Vegas.

We visited some relatives in Hemet Ca. last month and stayed at the Golden Village Palms RV Resort. Other than the 107 degree temps the place is nice, the people where helpful and it has just over 1000 full hookup spaces. It would be a great place for a rally.
For us Nor Cal would be better since we are in the Reno area.

Sounds like a great place for a rally.

Just need someone that is in the general vicinity to investigate how they are about rallies, and get some pricing.

I can definitely make that run from here in AZ.

We already have someone from the Oregon Rally who has stepped up to volunteer to host the California Rally in Hemet. We've made reservations at Golden Village Palms over Memorial Day Weekend. We'll be publishing details very soon.

We just stayed at the Pechanga RV resort over Thanksgiving - very close to Hemet.
On the plus side - beautiful rv park, dog off leash area, casino , hot air balloon rides near by, Old Town Temecula close by with fun shops and Saturday Farmer's Market, Winery Tours, community center for group BBQ s

Downside - not particularly family friendly although kids are welcome there isn't much for them to do in the park although there is a beautiful pool, ping pong, and nice bike trail across the parkway.

Just a thought for future events. Not sure of particulars - our site (called a "luxury site" because it had a table ,) was $65 a night. They also have larger sites for $75 that are very, very nice.

This so not as rustic as Petaluma - it would be more of a "glamping " site.

Rancho Jurupa Park is part of the riverside county park system. The cottonwood portion of the campground was beautiful, cement pads, grass - full hookup @$35/night The lakeside section was dirt pads - full hookup @$30/night. We camped 1x earlier this year. Splash pad & frisbee golf course (free), miniature golf (fee).

Comment on future Hemet events - if you plan it in April/early May rally participants could also catch the outdoor 'Ramona' play.

I believe Hemet is ready scheduled pending final arrangements.

x2 on Rancho Jurupa Park for a future event. In earlier posts/threads I also suggested it because of the nice sites and being close to the Rialto plant. It's too hot in Riverside Co. from July to September, maybe even up to mid-October. My avatar is from my maiden voyage @ Cottonwood (Rancho Jurupa Park).
