California Rally

We are in the planning stage for an April 2014 Northern, though all are welcome, California rally. April third week seems most popular though the date is not set. Please chime in. Locations from Santa Cruz to McArthur Burney have been suggested. My plan is to have the dates and location defined by Thanksgiving so we can make reservations for our sites. I will gather opinions and the weekend of November 23-24 we will have an online vote for date and location. So speak up now and if you have a great location tell us all why we should choose your spot. Hope to see you in April.

I would vote for April 14th or 20th. As far as camp grounds, there are so many nice places in northern california. I guess it depends on want activities a person would want other than just camping. I am content to just hang out and relax. If there is fishing nearby that is even better.

Having our own business has limited the time we can spend, so our camping trips have been limited to 2-3 days. Most of the places have been fairly close to home. So a new location would be good.

I've been looking at some California events for 2014 in the Napa and San Diego areas. If you'd like to put something together, I'll be glad to work with you to promote it and help subsidize it.

E-mail blasts helped get 150 people to Kerville, and helped get big turnouts in Oregon, Florida, and other locations. We can easily do one targeted to members in California and adjacent states.

Let me know how I can help.

Add us to the list as well. Either date should work for us and the locations suggested are good ones. Woodson Bridge either the state park or private one could work - both are on the Sacramento River across the street from each other if you want something north of Sacramento.

Out and about that's us we were camping at Tullock Lake. Count me in, any date will work but the later in the month the better. This will be our first rally and looking forward to it, I am not familiar with locations enough to make a suggestion just let me know when and where.

California Rally Growing Strong

It looks like I'm not the only one getting exciting about our April rally. We already have out of state folks coming to this fine state to sit around the campfire with us. It going to be such a great time join us. Let us know your feeling on which week. We will vote on it next month. You have to decide do you want to be there or read about it later and wish you had been. Hope to see ya.

California Rally date and location

So I've found a great location and dates that I think will work. Petaluma KOA, here's the link. Petalumakoa.com they have the week starting the 20th of April available for us. It is a big KOA with all the amenities we could want. Petaluma is right in wine country plus it has water access for boating/fishing. They offered fhu for 46 plus tax and the rate is good for the full stay if you come early or stay late. They have a recreation hall they will let us use for free with a full kitchen. I know I had said we would vote in November but I'm learning we are already late to the dance relative to getting a good location. I think this is a great choice. I need everyone to speak up now. If your good with this plan I'll let them know then he will set aside how ever many site we predict we need and everyone will call and make their own reservation. We will have a couple of months and then any unreserved sites will be released to the public. It's time to speak up. Talk to me people. Please.

Petaluma KOA is well-liked and recommended by many, if you don't mind the KOA-type experience.

you can get shuttles to SF so you don't have to drive there.
and it's in a good location that makes the ocean, SF, wine country and redwoods all within an hours drive.

if anyone wants some info about Napa/Sonoma Valley, if the Petaluma KOA ends up being where the rally is, send me a PM. the DW works in the wine industry.
