Caravans to Mexico - RV'ing in Mexico

Currently, I am researching possible caravans across the border and into Mexico. I have heard of a few that organize out of Phoenix. I would appreciate any information members might have. I am looking to get down to the Lake Chapala area near Guadalajara.
Does anyone have experience with RVing in Mexico in and around the state of Jalisco?
Please refrain from border town stories.
