Central PA FROG Group
We are new to the Forest River Family and just purchased a new Berkshire motorhome.
Does anyone know if there is a local FROG group in the PA area or any interest in having an unofficial FROG outing / weekend sometime this fall?

Welcome from the (OMI) Tadpoles! Very easy just start your own PA group.Thats what we did,it is now (Tadpole Rally) a International Rally,at the last rally one person could not speak English. He was from another country or had too much to drink? In keeping with the (Frog) theme your group could be (PA Pond Pushers)? As in Class A Diesel Pushers. Just a idea. Welcome! Youroo!!

Actually, we announced at the Rally that we're looking for a couple of volunteers to set up an activity in every state and province. These would be simple and inexpensive, typically just a weekend. You select a location -- state or provincial park, campground, fairground, or whatever -- maybe in conjunction with a local attraction or event that people might want to attend on their own, maybe just a quiet weekend away. We'll publicize the event on the website and/or in newsletters, provide a meal or attendance prizes, and help cover your camping cost for having set things up.
We're NOT looking for someone to be stuck with an officer job or an ongoing responsibility, but just to help set up an event once a year that local or traveling FROGs can attend. If we can get two couples or individuals in each state and province -- maybe more in larger areas such as California, Texas, and Ontario -- to do this just once a year, we'll have over 100 activities in addition to the major trips that people can attend to meet new and old friends and to get away inexpensively.
The models for this are what Iggy did in setting up the first FROG rally in Branson; what Bob and Nancy Schorfheide are doing in Oklahoma; and what Kurt & Michelle Hoffmann and others are doing with the Ohio / Michigan / Indiana group.
We had several volunteers at the rally, but are looking for more. Any interest? Drop me a note or call and let's talk.

Hi EJM4
If you are considering a state/mini rally you may consider making in just before or just after one in the general region.
For instance June 30 - July 5, 2013 we will have a FROG rally in Niagra Falls Canada and it would be great if a Penn rally can be organized a few days later. I'd consider coming as I always wanted to see Penn and PA

No ship jumping...
Just more of an audience over there compared to this site and would like to pull something off this year yet.

Just saw this on RV.net forum posted by ejm4:
A gathering of Forest River Owners will take place September 28th, 29th & 30th at Ives Run Campground located Tioga County, PA. The PA Grand Canyon is only a short drive away and possibly in full fall color.
We will be staying in the beach loop section. 50amp service is available.
Reservations - Campground Details - IVES RUN, PA - ReserveAmerica - [nrso]
This will be a casual family friendly camping weekend. Forest River travel trailers & motorhomes are welcome to attend. We have three young children ages 3 thru 8.
This is the first time for a Forest River outing in PA

Ives Run is one of my DW and I favorite campground. Absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. If our schedule is clear this is something we may consider.

Earl and I talked yesterday about a Pennsylvania outing. I think it's a great idea, like the OMI Tadpole and the Oklahoma events. It's intended to be simple, inexpensive, and fun. I appreciate his taking the lead in getting this set up in PA.
There's more information in Post #4 in this thread about what we are trying to do, not only in Pennsylvania, but all across the US and Canada.
Hope we'll have some takers!

There's an OMI -- Ohio, Michigan, Indiana -- group that's gotten together a couple of times to hold a Tadpole Rally. The last was in Ouabache State Park in Bluffton, IN in May. There was talk about doing another one sometime this fall, but I've heard nothing firm on it.
Kurt, Youroo, Low Bubba, anyone else have an update?
