We are going on two legs of the western tours, the Tetons and Yellowstone trips. We are leaving from the rally in Goshen and heading west at that point. Hope some of us can get together in Goshen.

Is there anybody traveling from the west coast to attend the rally in Colorado Springs?

Lord knows I'm jealous of you folks making those *long* trips! DH and I are limited to weekenders, and one "bucket list" trip this year....

NASCAR BRISTOL TN!

Getting very close too!

Torben, I don't remember off the top of my head, but I can check the registration file for you when I get back into the office.

Be safe if you are coming to the Colorado Springs event

Tonight's news:

The worst flooding this summer has hit Manitou today. There are reports of injuries, huge mudslides, and large amounts of damage throughout the area. Highway 24 is closed from mile marker 292-297.

The campground is south of Manitou by about 20 miles on highway 115. Most flooding and the mudslides are in the recent burn areas.

Although I did just last weekend come back from a visit to my grandparents house (just had their 73 anniversary ) in Canon City and on the way back it was raining so hard you had to stop driving. 1 1/2" of rain fell in 45 minuets.

Yep, we've been very wet and the people around the burn areas are getting a double whammy. It's always good to be informed. Hopefully, this pattern will subside in the next week!

It really has been pretty consistent the last 2 weeks or so. Just lots and lots of water.

Manitou is a unique area because it will collect all the water from the mountains and shove it through a (relatively) tiny valley and all heck will break loose. As we have seen.

A few of my relatives live in Manitou but on the sides up high.

Stay safe.

I spoke a few minutes ago with the campground. They are about 20 miles from where the fires were, and that's where much of the torrential muddy flooding is occurring because there is nothing to hold the ground in place after the fires.

The address for Mountaindale RV Resort is 2000 Barrett Road, Colorado Springs. We're set for Sunday arrival after noon. Cindy and I will be arriving on Saturday, as are one or two others. If anyone else is interested in arriving early, there's only one spot left in the entire park on Saturday evening.

An e-mail will be coming shortly.

Thanks for the info Bob.

Got home from Goshen yesterday. Have been doing load after load of laundry. Working on my grocery list and my Bob is planning our route to Mountaindale. More fun and making new friends and seeing old friends (well, not old in age).

We just spent a week in Colorado Springs near Manitou Springs where the flooding happened. It was a terrible and horrific event but the campground GoG Campground was not affected. As a matter of fact the campground had everything clean by Saturday. lots of hard work by the staff at the campground.

Positives the weather mid 80's lows in the 50's
The town is great the snow on the Pikes Peak in early August.
Going to miss the FROG event but should be a very nice time love to hear about Mountaindale CG. always looking for a new place to stay in Southern Colorado.

With camper1999 and torben coming to the rally it looks like the Cedar Creek brand will be well represented.

We will be leaving on Thursday morning for the trip to Colorado Springs.

My cousin was at Pike's Peak yesterday, and she posted this photo. You never know what Mother Nature is going to throw your way, so dress in layers.

While you never know what Mother Nature will throw at you, I’m sure we’ll have a beautiful day when we visit the top of Pikes Peak. One thing you can pretty much count on though, at 14110 feet of elevation it will be windy and chilly at the top.

I’m confident we’ll get this view from Pikes Peak.

Thank you RascalRv.

We're looking forward to making friends with more FROGs at the rally. We're also expecting the line to be much shorter for the dinner on the first night of the Colorado rally. One thing I've learned from the Goshen rallies, when the dinner bell rings the line forms quickly.

Hungry FROGs at the Goshen rally 2013.
