Iggy, not sure what you've got planned in Wisconsin, but I can say that the greater Green Bay area has very little in terms of suitable RV parks and campgrounds. We have family there, and typically have to stay 30-45 minutes out of town. On the other hand, I can recommend Lake Farm Campground in Madison. If you're coming "over the top" as we say (through the UP), I can make some recommendations as well.
Cheers, and safe travel!

Iggy, here are some stops we've enjoyed in Michigan's Upper Peninsula:
- Union Bay Campground at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. If you go, be sure to visit the Lake Of The Clouds.
- Bewabic State Park in Crystal Falls.
- Indian Lake State Park in Thompson (Manistique). Right next door is Palms Book State Park featuring the Kitch-iti-kipi spring, a must-see in my opinion.
- Marquette Tourist Park in Marquette. This is a city-owned park with everything from tent sites to paved full hookups. Marquette is a college town and is the largest "city" in the UP. If you are a craft beer lover, be sure to visit Blackrocks Brewing. Also tour Presque Isle Park.
- Munising, MI also runs a city tourist park and his home to the famed Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Take the boat tour if you can.
- Tahquamenon Falls State Park in Paradise features the Upper & Lower Falls. The campgrounds are tight for big rigs, especially the lower falls campground. If you visit, be sure to check out Whitefish Point right next door.
- Already mentioned in this thread is Aune Osborne park on the St. Mary's river in Sault Ste Marie ("the Soo"). The views of the freighters never get old. Also in the area is Brimley State Park which is within a few minutes of the Soo.
- At some point, you'll cross "Big Mac" into the lower peninsula. Straits State Park on the North side in St. Ignace has some long pull-throughs in the upper campground. In Mackinaw City there is a very large & busy campground called Mackinaw Mill Creek. Outside of Mackinaw City is Wilderness State Park.
I'll stop there for now. There are lots of resources on the web.

So this is going to be our 1st FROG Rally. Woohooo!!
The question I have is, we normally pull our Toyota RAV4 behind us, but we are considering just bringing our peddle bikes, because the large number of vehicles that are going to be there. So would we be making a mistake??
We are scheduled for 2 different "events" Tour #2 Brown Bag Tour of Amish Country / Amish Wedding Feast (Tuesday) & Tour #5 Chrome, Homes, and Golden Dome
Other than those outings, I'm not sure we would want to leave the site. I figured, if REALLY, REALLY needed, a fellow Berkshire owner, could be counted on for a ride. Or just Uber it.
Bill

SeaDog, we e-mailed an announcement of the opening date as a special newsletter to 50,000+ FROG members; posted it on the FROG website, www.forestriverfrog.com, on the Forest River Forums, and on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/FROwnersGroup/.
Within 24 hours of opening registration on April 5, 600 of the 800 sites were taken, as were most of the tours. The other 200 sites were gone three days later. It took seven weeks to sell out 700 sites last year, and four days to sell out 800 sites this year.

BB920:
You will get a lot of use out of peddle bikes. The fairgrounds cover many acres and you be could be a long way from the dinning hall. It is mostly flat, so bicycles are commonly used to/from meals.

On the other hand, if you're looking to go outside the fairgrounds, like say to the Walmart to pick up groceries, the Amish cheese shop that I forget the name of but had excellent cheese (and ice cream!), any of the many RV supply shops in the area, etc... Then you'll want a car, or plan to carpool with friends.
Shouldn't be a problem finding friends to catch a ride with if you go that route, there's only oh, say 1600 or so of us going to be there.
