There is a slight chance he might wise up. Then again, the keys maybe in it for the rush to high ground.

Thing is, if you're gonna steal it, you have to be up later than us! We have been known to see the sun rise!

To see the sun rise is one thing, to be able to get off the ground is another.

They way I see it if positioned correctly, you should see the sun rise and not have to get off the ground.

I need to take a moment to comment on service activities at the FROG Rally and to set -- or maybe unset -- some expectations.

When we started the FROG Rallies, Pete made a speech in which he said that, "We're a great company, and we make terrific products. But we're human, and sometimes we screw up. When we do, we're going to make it right."

That said, if there's something that we've done and there's a problem with it, we want to take care of it for you. But let's not get crazy. Honest to goodness, I had a call tonight from a woman who asked what kind of service we provide at the FROG Rally. When I asked what she had in mind, she asked about engine work and suspension. As it turns out, she has a 1989 Coachmen that she bought last year. It's a twenty-seven year old unit that she bought "as is" from the "who-knows-how-many-eth" owner after years of "who-knows-what-kind-of" maintenance. I'm sorry, but not only "no," but "h-ll no."

To the person last year who bought an eight-year-old pop-up and then got it home and opened it up to learn that the canvas was dry-rotted, the floor had soft spots, and some features didn't work: NO!

To the guy who said he'd hit a tree limb and torn his rubber roof not once but twice and would like us to replace the roof: NO. That's why you have insurance.

To the guy with a seven year old trailer with one door, and who has decided that he'd like to have two entries like the much newer and much larger and much more expensive unit he just saw at an RV show and thinks we should cut a hole in the side and install a second door and rebuild the inside cabinetry and modify the frame for the new steps: NO.

Service at the FROG Rally is not intended to replace periodic maintenance. It's not to provide upgrades, like a dinette in place of a table and chairs or vice versa. If you decided to build a massive front end extension on your lightweight trailer and have now exceeded the weight limits of your axles, wheels, and other components, that's not our fault.

We'll be establishing some limits and some guidelines on what we can and can't do and what we will and won't do to try to eliminate -- or at least reduce -- some of the abuse and ridiculous requests. Some requests might require that you arrive early or stay after the event because there are some things that just can't be done correctly outside of a service facility.

Please understand. We are going to continue to provide outstanding service at no charge at the FROG Rally, but we're not going to be silly about it. There are some requests to which we're going to say "no."

And yes, every one of those examples -- and there are some even worse -- is absolutely true.

I had always thought the service was for original owners. My only "requests" out of 2 years attendance has been for a stabilizer, a hatch door catch, and a light bulb. Now, they did do some suspension work that the techs found, but that was their request.

Countdown to Goshen Aug 14, 2016

Yes. Thanks Bob. It's unfair to think the free work should be for an upgraded trailer. Also be reasonable. There's legitimate work and there's wants.

What was the original purpose of a FROG Rally?

What was the original purpose of a FROG Rally?

The original FROG Rally in Branson MO. was created to bring Forest River Owners together who never experienced what true camping was like. Create new friendships with families that enjoy the same. Break bread and do things together that will be memorable and lasting. This is what I thing FROG is all about.

I enjoy many FROG rally's around the country because I enjoy meeting new folks with the same likes and to help anyone that has any questions on how things work on their rigs.

As FROG Bob said that Forest River will help with original owners but they need to set limits.

I wish and hope all the people who setup FROG and Tadpole rally's in their states to continue the original purpose.
Meet and have fun camping and hope this will continue.

John (aka Iggy)

That's GREAT!
Too bad the Goshen rally was starting to become a repair shop rally.
It's still fun in Goshen but we have to remind folks its main purpose is to meet new folks and have fun together.
