Phil, glad you made it in to town safe and sound. it is a very beautiful place! I see you had some incline scares, just wondering which way you came into town? which Hwy?

LOL yes we were. Ok I have no idea how we did what we did but we definitely didn't do the direct route. We almost never do. We got off 87 at Bath and really thought we would find a campground and spend the night. We had reservations at Clute for Tuesday and we wanted to take the long way I guess. We ended up on this two way road I think it was 23 that turned into Mud lake rd. it was the steepest darn road I have ever driven up with a MH. We saw a sign that said 5 ton limit and thought we might be in trouble. It wasn't bad except those two grades. We never found a campground and just came in to Clute. By the way the lady at the front desk is the best. She worked us in and won't have to move. Great folks here so far. Anyway don't go the way we went unless you have lots more HP than we do.
We seriously thought we would have to stop and unhook the jeep to make it. Oh well just another story. Dianna did pour a large glass of Beam on the rocks when we got set up. I think I scared her a little.

I think that I know which way you went, we came down a road that had the same sign, we just kept on trekking down it though and we came out at the top of a hill by the lake. we went home a different way and was easier drive. I'm actually thinking about going a different way this time also. reason being we want to make a pit stop at campers world in Hamburg. and then go get some groceries. things are a little cheaper in the USA

Glad you are all settled in without having to move. take in the sites, the gorge and water falls are spectacular!
