Florida F.R.O.G.s
Is there a Florida F.R.O.G. group, or is anyone interested in starting a group? I am trying to find a group of folks who enjoy camping together, especially in north central Florida.

So far, it does not seem to be too popular of an idea. I got the idea after seeing that the Alabama group is planning a rally in the fall.

Being in Florida many already are staged at a campground.
Some have planned a dinner meeting to meet each other in the particular area you are located. Especially if you are in a major Florida city. Sometimes you can get local vendors to support the dinner if you have enough people and Lazy Days in Tampa is a great dealership that may help out.
Don't give up and keep this thread active and you will get plenty to join in the fun.
Here is a great thread to read that Bob Byrnes started for folks wanting to start a group.

Good luck in gathering the FROGs in Florida.

I think you have a good idea. Slow response may be due to many are currently on the road.

A couple of years ago there were two FROG outings, one in Kissimmee and one in Sarasota. The problem was that most people that came still worked and did not have the free time for organizing events.

Thanks for the link, Iggy! Windjammin, I am more interested in get together so on the weekend because we work as well. Most rally's I have seen down at Lazy Days in tampa were during the week. That does not work for us. Also, trying to have the weekend get together so kind of centrally located would help with timely travel. Also, because northerners come down and occupy a lot of the parks in the winter, having summer trips might work the best.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, HSVBamaBob, but I had to get to church. Thank you too for the information. I will have to look at your rally to see if we would be able to get up there. It sounds like fun!

If at all possible, I would go to a rally. My DW is the social butterfly, but I plan our trips.

We've had a number of events in Florida -- three dinners at Lazydays in connection with the Tampa RV Show; FROG/Forest River weekend at Lazydays this past March; rallies in Kissimmee in January, St. Augustine last year, and in Orlando, Sarasota, and Moore Haven before that.
If someone would like to put together another event, I'll be glad to work with you on helping to organize and publicize it.

By my count, I believe we have about eight interested, which if everyone represents two people on average, that would be sixteen people. Not a bad start! Which would work better? August, September, or October?

I say mid September would be best. August is to hot. If anyone trying for BamaGanza in October might be a problem.
