Come and join FROG "Down by the Bayou"
February 24 – March 2, 2014
Come and join FROG as we head "Down by the Bayou"!
Enjoy six nights of camping at Lakeside RV Park in Livingston, LA, just a short distance from the capital city of Baton Rouge. We'll take in the peace and quiet of the Louisiana countryside, while still participating in the excitement leading up to Mardi Gras.
We'll get a taste of the carnival atmosphere with a visit to Mardi Gras World. From there we're off to a relaxing Mississippi River cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez
, the only remaining authentic steamboat based on the mighty Mississippi.
Following our cruise, we'll take a city tour of "The Big Easy" to get an overview of New Orleans and its claim to be "America's Most Interesting City."
Later in the week we'll set out on a Cajun adventure with a swamp tour at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, then stroll under a towering canopy of centuries-old oaks on our visit to Oak Alley Plantation, one of the most famous in the South.
You'll also have free time to explore the area, including Baton Rouge, the Capital of Louisiana, with its looming Gothic Old Capitol, its Mardi Gras celebrations, and more.
