Looking at the weather forecast for the Amana area it appears that we got out just in time. Thank God we live in the south !

Suggestion for the next Amana Frog Rally that the weather man is called a month or so early and better weather asked for as in no rain. Even with all the rain it didn't dampen the spirit of the rally.

While it did rain in the evenings, we didn't get a DROP of rain on us during our time in town enjoying the festivities during the day.

I'll take that.

KUDOS to the Amana Campground Folks

Have to send kudos to the management and the maintenance guys at the Amana campground. We decided to stay one additional night, thinking Monday would be better. NOT! Rained all Sunday night and the ground was very soft Monday morning. Did not sleep that night, thinking there was no way out without getting stuck in the mud. Had to go to Theisen's for some boots as there was 6" of water on one side of the Berkshire. Watched Electra Glide pull out and then it was my turn. Only way out was to back the Berkshire about 200 yards to one of the "better" east-west gravel roads. The campground maintenance folks helped me backing up keeping all tires on the narrow campsite gravel. Our dilemma, no way to turn to the west onto the gravel road without the front or rear wheels getting into the sod (and potentially sinking). The campground maintenance guys helped immensely by bringing about a dozen front loader buckets of stone, thereby allowing me to back onto the new stone and turn onto the east-west gravel. A godsend! It WORKED! Happy I did not have call for a tow! And happy I did not have to figure out how anyone would tow a Berkshire! Let's pray for no rain and warmer temperatures next year.

I was just wondering if you made it out. Good to hear that they helped you out!

Can't remember what was said about the dates for 2019. Is it the 4th-6th?

The Amana Colonies Facebook page says 4-6 Oct 2019. Maybe the rally host will check in soon and confirm.

October 4-6 are the correct dates. I am getting everything set up for next year. I will create a new thread probably in February like in years past.
