General rally questions

I just got the email containing the link to the rally in Tuscon in March. My wife and I are new to RV life and have never been to a rally. We don't yet have a dinghy so we aren't sure about getting around to the attractions in the area without a car. Does anyone rent a car once they get to a destination? Are there kind folks at the rallies that don't mind if a couple of rookies tag along when they go sight seeing? If so is there an easy way to get hooked up with others or more of a hit and miss situation.
Thanks in advance for your patience with us. This forum has already been very helpful!

Yes, we recently rented from Avis, they picked us up and dropped us off, they were great.

The simple answer to your question is yes to both. I would rent a car (which is usually a easy process as several will come get you) for the first 1-2 rallies until you have a chance to meet some people with common interest.

Oh I wanted to say. At the bigger rallies like Goshen their are planned bus tours that pick you up and are a great way to get to meet folks and see local places

When we were at the Goshen rally we had tours almost every day that we had purchased. It seemed that after settling in on Sunday we didn't use our truck till Thursday. Just so much going on at the rally. Tuscon rally isn't as large as Goshen but it should provide you fun and friendship. I hope to be there this March also.
