Getting to Goshen

We are heading up I-44 to I-70 to I-57, stopping near Champaign, IL, on our way to the Int'l Rally. From I-57, what is the best route to get to Goshen? We're looking at Hwy 24 to Hwy 31. Good/bad???

US 31 isn't bad...we came south from Goshen to Indy on it after the 2013 rally. I've been on 24 in a car from Indy across all of Illinois, and as I recall, that isn't a bad road, either. I've generally taken I-57 all the way to I-80, then east on I-80, but I really hate Chicagoland traffic.

Thanks for the info. We're wanting to avoid Chicago traffic, as well.

If your stopping in Champaign IL I would take I 74 across to I 65 (faster). Then getting off on IN 24 going east till you reach IN 15. This will take you right to Goshen IN and Elkhart IN by passing all of the Chicago and Indianapolis traffic.

I use IL 24 and IN 24 all of the time to get down to I 65 in IN.

Driving to Goshen

Well that avoids Chicago. Should be a workable plan. All four good roads. hwy 6 to hwy 15 north to Goshen.

Russell.

We are traveling from Goshen via Fort Wayne. GPS advises Highway 33 to Fairgrounds.
Any problems such as low bridges, construction etc.? Looking forward to first International Frog Rally!

There was talk of 2 bridges being out for construction and the detour being very narrow. I forget if it is in the countdown thread or the FROG Rally sticky. I'm still trying to figure my detour out as we are coming that way as well.

From Fairgrounds web page regarding bridge construction:
From South East Fort Wayne:
Take US 20 Bypass to US 33 Exit
Turn Right on US 33 follow through Goshen (East)
Turn Left on Country Road 34
Fairgrounds on Right (south side)
Safe travels!

Skip n Terri. Which route did you end up taking and how was it? We're thinking about taking 24 to 15.
