We'll be looking for volunteers, and will have a space on the form to volunteer. Among the things we need are parking committee (requires coming in a day or two early), registration, welcome bag stuffers (requires early arrival), shuttle drivers to shuttle folks to meals and around the grounds on "limo" golf carts, and more. There will be a place to volunteer on the registration form.

There will also be a place to request service from the techs, both on the registration form and at the event.

As for children, there were several families there with children, from pre-school to teens. Unfortunately, early school start dates precluded quite a few families from attending. The primary reason for moving the date a week earlier this year (this date wasn't available last year) is to encourage more families to attend with their children or grandchildren.
Bob - with school starting here August 7th is there any chance of moving it earlier another week (or more) for 2014?

Ron, the hookups were at the extreme back of the sites. I had a 20 footer sewer hose, and I think a 25' fresh water hose, and didn't have any problems.

We got back to the office yesterday. Today we completed the menu and got final pricing on meals; met with the head of the service team; confirmed availablility of additional nights with the fairground; finished the final draft of the registration form, volunteer form, and service request form; and caught our breath. (Yesterday was for processing the registrations for the Cherry Blossom Festival and Fireworks Over the Falls.)

Tomorrow we'll complete the final version of the forms and get them over to DP for upload to the FROG website. Look for them to be online before the end of the week.

We're still wrestling with the issue of which of two buildings we'll be using for meals and entertainment. Last year we were close to filling the Community Building. There's a larger one available, but we'd have to set up chillers.

Here's how things are shaping up:

Since nearly 3/4 of attendees were in on Sunday last year, we've made that the official start of the rally to get a slightly lower camping rate. We've also added a day at the end since many stayed over on Friday night. So we're ending up with dates of August 4-10 -- arrival on Sunday, departure on Saturday.

That's six nights of camping (SMTuWThF), four dinners, six breakfasts, live entertainment, RV show, vendors, factory service, Amish bake sale, factory tours, and more. There will be three optional tours, scheduled on different days so that people can choose to do more than one.

Cost for two people in an RV is $345. That's $50 more than last year, but gets two additional nights of camping (extra nights were $22 each last year), two additional full breakfasts, an additional dinner, and some other features. I don't have the numbers in front of me for additional people, but we've tried to make it extremely attractive to bring kids and grandkids.

Everyone will have at least 30 amp electric service and water. For those with no sewer, we'll have a pumpout service around midweek, either Wednesday or Thursday.

We'll have information out later on the optional tours, and on golf cart rentals for anyone interested in contacting the golf cart company directly and renting one. (Drivers must be at least 18 and have a valid driver's license.)

Let's get ready to rally!

Thanks for the update and all the hard work you & others have put into this event!

BTW - I did ask my boss today about the chance of having that week off. For reasons I am completely in agreement with the answer wasn't OK. Maybe someday it will work out and I will be there too. In the meantime please do continue doing the FROG events.
