Their event, so they can do what they want. It would be nice to know if that's how they're going to do it next year though.

Hi Capt. Mike,
I can understand the CEO of Forest River wanting to make sales through this rally, but I think the idea of "fostering a bit of elitism" NEVER came from Pete Liegl. I think that notion was started somewhere else, by someone else. I, for one, would like to see this type of thinking stop.
Every RVer chooses their type of RV for a reason. I don't think it has anything to do with wanting to be "elite". Yes, Cowracer is right. We, as Berkshire owners, have looked at the R-pod and said "now, that's the way to go" but considering other variables (tow vehicle, space for guests, set-up procedure, etc.) the R-pod won't work for us. We have toured some of the 5th wheels and thought "OMG! This is beautiful" but then we look at the variables (cost of tow vehicle, whether or not we have the skill to drive/back up a sizable 5th wheel, etc) and figure out that a 5th wheel unit won't work for us. We have owned a TT in the past, and loved it. But again, variables considered (size of tow vehicle, set up procedure, etc) we decided changing our RV to a diesel Motorhome suited our needs and situation better. Health issues, specifically, were a big determining factor in our decision to switch to a Motorhome. Would we prefer to have the age and health that allowed for an R-pod? YES! But that isn't the way things worked out. It has NOTHING to do with "elitism", it has to do with NECESSITY and circumstances in our life.
So I would hope all of this talk of "elitism" or wondering "who got what site and why" would be discontinued. I would much prefer to say we had a great time at the rally and we look forward to next year's rally. No matter where we park or what hook-ups we end up with. And yes, I look forward to meeting other RVers...... no matter what unit they choose or why they chose it!
Life in today's world is rough and RVing is our salvation! I, personally, won't let prejudice and negativity ruin my RV time!
Yes, we own a Berkshire Motorhome. Stop by anytime and say hello. We can talk about the joys of RVing!!!
For the record, the directive of not further splitting up the parking by brand came from Pete in a meeting that I had with him prior to the 2015 FROG Rally. I told him that I'd already made some commitments to a couple of the prior-existing clubs, and he said to honor any commitments that I'd already made. We will not be further splitting up the parking by brand.

I received a suggestion yesterday or Friday that next year we park all diesels together. I don't plan to do that.

I think putting the coaches in by Brand is brilliant. Easier for the service Tec's, promotes brand id and lets all the brand owners to discuss the attributes of their specific coach and allows more time to discuss where to go fro rallies ect and become better friends. Example the R Pod will go places a Columbus or cedar creek cant. Different stokes for differnt folks

Believe me...our XLR techs had fun driving golf carts around, getting whatever unexpected supplies the techs doing the work needed!!
So putting us together does help, however, when we chose to hang with long time friends instead, our techs have no problem accommodating!! That week with us, is actually fun for these techs! All of them!! They are perfectly fine, finding where your campsite is, and giving you their full attention as if you were parked with a group!

My/Our take on Any Rally is to make People Comfortable and Accepted! I could care less what type unit you have parked next to us or where we sit at the Main Hall during meals! We really search out couples who are sitting at a 6 person table by themselves to join,Mix and Match that is what a Rally should be! In a week long period we still have time to Visit/spend with close friends also! We really prefer smaller Rallys but Big ones are Fun and Enjoyable also! Youroo!!

Thanks for the compliment on the infield parking, I had a great crew helping me this year so kudos to them as well. Lou ( Herk) and I worked on the 2015 rally together in the infield and between the both of us figured out the best and easiest way for everyone to park out there, now if we could just get a little more room between units i would be happier but then everyone might not reach the hook ups
