Goshen Site Decorations

As a newbie to the Goshen Rally i want to make sure we fit in. Do trees like this fit the theme of most sites?

Any site decoration fits in. Personally I would go for more of a FROG theme.

There was pretty much a little bit of everything at the rally last year. I don't specifically remember palm trees, but I'm betting there were some.

Sye, who posts often on the Phat Phrog's Place thread here, had a tiki hut set up. Get next to him and you guys can have a whole south seas island theme going.

The little or big red campfires are also very popular for evening campfires to bring along.

Oh? Does this mean there's no traditional pits?

We had our portable fire pit there last year. If your question if there are fire pits there, the answer is no.

Alright, just means I won't need to pick up firewood on that side of the border for that trip. Woohoo, saved some money!

Thanks for the info.

We camp at the 4 H Fairgrounds and are really pretty tight camping but that is alright because we don't spend much time at camp. Except at night when we gather around different propane campfires and talk, laugh and just enjoy each others company....

A rally is a different kind of bear as far as camper privacy goes.
Fire is ALWAYS a major concern.

A fire can quickly get out of control and campers burn quickly and completely.
I have photos of a US military "tent city" in Kuwait (1996) where a small fire got out of control and burned the camp to the ground.

Imagine a camper fire at a rally; Horror...

Does this mean that above ground woodburning firepits ARE allowed, just not supplied by the campground?

Even if they are I'm still going to use the "Sorry Hun, no firepits there" excuse to avoid needing to buy firewood.

I believe last year I was told above ground fires were ok on the parking pad.

I'd ask Bob to be sure.
