Hello from NC!

Can't wait to get back to the Black Hills, Custer State Park, and the Badlands! And except for the crosswinds, I just loved the drive up to Teddy Roosevelt Nat'l Park.

Thanks! Our maiden voyage was to VA and NC in July with the National HOG to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was awesome! Also my first time to pull the TH all by myself...what a story! We loved the scenery and the people!

Welcome to you from Texas!...as RVers and HOG enthusiasts.

It's good to see others that haul the bikes with them and ride. Maybe we could have a "Forest River Harley Owners Group". Call ourselves "FRHOGS" ( with a silent "h"...LOL). Sounds like maybe a neat idea.

Anyway, WELCOME and enjoy! It's a great lifestyle.

Another welcome from Virginia. If you were on the central Va part of the Parkway you were in my neck of the woods. Real close to Peaks of Otter.

We truly loved the Blue Ridge Parkway! The rally started at Roanoke VA, so we rode there for a day, then I pulled the TH to Asheville NC in the interstate as hubby rode the parkway. What an experience for my first solo! I had a couple of "scenic tours" if you know what I mean. I often 2nd guess myself on my decisions, and have found out I should usually go with my first instinct! We would like to travel there during the fall color change. Hopefully when retirement allows us all the time we need!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!

Campgrounds and motels are booked solid during that period from the Smoky Mountains to Skyline Drive, so plan well ahead and confirm any reservations!

That usually means mid-September through end of October. Most of the parkway campgrounds close for the season on October 31. The private ones vary in when or if they close.

If and when you get to a point that you are planning a trip along the BRP, post some questions about where to camp and places you are interested in visiting along the way and there should be enough of us spread along the length of the parkway to give you some good spots to camp and places to go.

You will have great weather while you're here! It's raining this morning, but is supposed to clear off. Wish we could camp this weekend, but we're in the middle of a major house painting project that must get done before the snow flies! The geese are already heading south!

Mount Rushmore is awesome, especially at night with the lights. Crazy Horse monument is not far from there.

Safe travels!

Now that's funny! Wonder what the logo might look like? Frog on a Harley?

Another NC hello! I love the BRP ... one of my favorite campgrounds is Raccoon Holler! It is located on the BRP and has beautiful sites, a fishing pond, and a big play area for the kiddos!

Have Fun!

San Diego huh? Or is it South Dakota? Because if I lived in San Diego I'm not sure I'd ever want to leave it's so beautiful out there.

Welcome from Ontario. We have been to the Black Hills twice. Each time was late Aug. early Sept. and we really enjoyed it. Great people and great place. Even though I am Canadian i have to say that we were really moved by the evening presentation at Mount Rushmore the first time we were there. Also had a great chuckwagon dinner and met new friends from Texas who had come to Custer State Park to see the prarie dogs. We will come back there anytime we get the chance. Old Guys
