Chenango Valley State Park is an ice age wonder. Its two kettle lakes, Lily and Chenango, were created when the last glacier retreated and left behind huge chunks of buried ice which melted to form the lakes and bog. Birdwatchers may glimpse woodpeckers, nut hatches, warblers and thrushes along woodland trails and herons, ducks and kingfishers lakeside. Fishermen will find trout, bass, perch and bullhead in Chenango Lake. Campers can choose from among 184 campsites and 24 cabins and golfers will appreciate the 18-hole Chenango Valley State Park*Golf Course*(pro shop can be reached by calling: 607-648-9700). Sledding and cross-country ski trails attract visitors in winter.

Two vehicles are allowed per site. Any additional vehicles will be charged a $7/night per vehicle

Day visitors will be charged the Park entrance fee

CHIPMUNK BLUFF (60-192) NON-ELECTRIC AND ELECTRIC SITES

Chipmunk is the largest campground with 4 loops of campsites, loop 2 (88-116) has 50 AMP electric service and loop 3 (117-150) has 30 AMP electric service. Located across from the Pine Plains picnic shelter, Chipmunk Bluff is a more open area that is very convenient for those looking to rent several sites near each other. This area has two restroom/shower building and small playground. Most sites are separated by either a line of brush or small tree line. Sites bordering the park road: 60-70, 182-184, 186, 188, 190-192; Site near bluff: 163, 165, 166, 168, 170, 172, 174, 176, 178-181.

Campground is just outside Binghamton, NY in Chenango Forks, NY. It is 1 hour from Corning or Ithaca, and 1 ½ hours from Cooperstown (National Baseball Hall of Fame).

Lots of nice upstate NY views to see. This is a very nice State Park with lots of Trails, Lakes and peaceful tranquility. Come and enjoy the outdoors with fellow FROGS.

The itinerary is casual, Times of gatherings will be determined as we get closer.

All gatherings will be behind site 114-116

Tentative Itinerary

Friday night – Meet and greet – finger foods and dessert

Saturday – On your own to explore park and surrounding areas
Saturday- Camper crawl
Saturday night – Potluck

Sunday Morning - Last Gathering – Breakfast Potluck to visit and say Goodbyes.

The camper crawl was a hit last year so we will do it again. .

This is the third year. Nothing is set aside for us so reserve early. The host will hopefully have site #114 again.

Outstanding! I'll be in. Three times a charm! Just came back from 2 weeks at Algonquin Provincial Park. Did not see any moose or bear but they were always close. Missed this male by a few seconds as he was running through the CG, leaping over a rail fence and jumping into the lake. The Game Wardens had to shoot an aggressive bear in the CG two weeks back. Still a good time feeding the chippies, blue jays and red squirrels.
