We're hoping to head up there to visit our son in Amherst for a week or two. Any suggestions on great spots to camp?

I work the late night freight from Middleboro to Braintree.

Normandy Farms in Foxboro is a very nice CG, clean and well kept, lots to do there and very pet friendly, check them out online. We go at there every year sites are big and friendly people.

Peppermint Park in Plainfield is closer to Amherst. Never been there, but it gets good reviews.

It would be a long drive from Normandy Farms to Amherst... But a VERY good campground resort.

Ashford CT here, we're about 10 miles south of Sturbridge. I used to live in Andover, Oxford, Auburn, West Springfield, Granby and Northampton though...

To doverfel, I don't know of any campgrounds near Amherst, but it is a fantastic area. The Northampton/Amherst area has some great shops, restaurants, and stuff to do! Are you looking for full hookups or boon docking?? The DAR State Forest in Williamsburg (Goshen??, or a town directly adjacent to that) was very nice and wooded, but I don't think there are any hook ups there...
