This is one one my favorite places due to everything available, always had room when I tried, descent price and all the things to do in the park.

Steelshark, I disagree that Pelican Cove isn't that nice, I understand it was voted best military park on the east coast in 2011, but that depends on what you are looking for. There's a reason why Hannah has many vacancies, IMO the sites are nasty... in fact the whole place is a mess... the bathrooms are OK, to be fair. The beach is at least a 15 minute walk, so if you decide to try it, drive over there. The store has to be seen to be believed... the shelves were nearly bare... maybe 10 items total... like something out of Solent Green! Oh.... also, most of the sites are T-tiny.

Yeah, I really did not mean to down play Pelican Cove that much. I prefer nature when I camp and that is why I really enjoy Hanna. Hanna as so much more to offer in my opinion with things to do outdoors. That is why I go camping in the first place is to be outdoors. When making reservations at Hanna and need a bigger site, request it. I have had zero issues with size of my site. One correction to your comment though. It was Eagle Hammok in Kings Bay Ga that was voted best East Coast Campground in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

I think my disappointment with Hanna was the dirt and since it rained, all the debris on the truck and camper from the trees. It was very shady, that is for sure.
