How is Saturday travel through the construction on 24 to 40 east? If it's just as bad as weekday, I'll take parkway. Haven't been through there for a couple months.

AquaMan, weekends aren't much better. If you're southbound on I 65 take exit # 90B, loop around till you are dizzy and follow the rest of us past Opryland to exit #6A on Hwy 155. The construction barriers on I 24 reduce traffic to one lane for a short distance where the max width is 11 ft. That gives you 18 inches on either side so don't change the radio right now. If you do take this route look at all the black tire marks on the 5 ft tall concrete.

That's what I was afraid of. Last I was through there, they still had 2 lanes open. I'll take the loop! Is the 24/40 interchange clear for going downtown, or would it be better to hit Murfreesboro Pike and run that in? Can't remember how far down the construction went.

No other construction issues will affect our travels between the Shores and downtown or the Opry complex.

I usually get there right after morning rush and zip right on through. It's going north that you can miss the turn to stay on 24 due the reroute. Later RJD

If you're "coming for the Pigeon Forge area", what are you going to do with it after you get it?

Just couldn't resist!

Send a message via AIM to B and B
I will ask CAA to route us on 2 lane blacktop. That at least offers options to get around construction. Sounds like the Interstate's are all jammed up right now with road work.

Whew! Glad to hear we're not the only ones who don't like country music. Although the live band in the park might be more interesting as we'll be right there.

Looking forward to the rally, meeting everyone, and seeing all the sights!! 23 days til we leave for Nashville!! (24 if you leave the day you arrive)

I've been thinking about going via Pigeon Forge also it looks like about a four hour drive from there to Nashville Shores, we like that smokies area and when we were there last year at the rally it was rather wet to do much in the way of site seeing.

Feel free to join us we are staying at Creekside RV Park and will bet there July 24-30, but might drop the 30th if our site in Nashville is open.

Town? N'ville a 'town'
The only city in the south that's worse getting through is Atlanta

Actually, though it's not *that* bad - the construction areas on I65 will be a tad rough - especially with your big rig - but Kenny's a pro! You shouldn't have any problems.

We are coming back from MI early tomorrow morning I75 through Ohio then I65 KY-AL. I will post a road report either in-route or when we get home.

Please post what you encounter in Ohio, my guess it's going to be terrible. I haven't figured out my final route yet so this information will be priceless. Thanks.
