We cleaned the tt this past weekend. Amazing how dusty it can get just sitting, inside and out. I performed what little preventive maintenace was needed.

We've got all our clothes already loaded in. So everything is ready to go except the food. I'll turn the frig on tomorrow morning before I head off to work to get it started and then we'll load 'er up Wednesday morning before we pull out. That will give it a good 24 hrs to get cold.

Since no one has mentioned kids or grand kids we're not bringing ours. I'll take them on a "special" camping trip later.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in a couple of days.

Truck loaded with fuel.....all of the big stuff in the truck.....Little stuff in the trailer.....All we need to do in the morning is hook up and go.
As hot as its supposed to be I sure hope we all do not melt.
We'll have a good time anyway.

Through with work for today! Yahoooooo!!!!

I'll gas up the truck tonight. We'll throw a few last minute items in the tt and tv in the morning, check tire air pressure, hitch up and head out. Taking our time. Hoping to arrive about 12:30 or 1:00.

Have a safe trip everyone.
See ya there!!!

The Countdown is ON!!!

Still another day and 1/2 to work before we head out on Thursday.

I agree, it's going to be hot, thank goodness for air conditioning! Hope the heat hasn't changed anyone's mind about attending.

Safe travels everyone...see you Thursday!

After rally report

WE CAME.....WE RALLIED.....WE MELTED...and went home a day early....

BUT WE STILL HAD FUN.

Total of 6 rigs from Broken Arrow, Catoosa, Coweta, Wagoner, Eufaula, and Ketchum, OK. We had a great potluck Thursday evening, everyone went home with a door prize...thanks to Daves RVs, Leisure Time RVs, Bob and Gary and Don for adding to the list of goodies. Great thanks also to Forest River folks for supplying ballcaps and FROF logo stickers for everyone.

Record high temps...18 days in a row over 100 took the starch out of all of us and 8 of us went out Friday evening to the local casino for a GREAT Buffet dinner in a cool building. Back at the campground there was a very small cool time and sitting outside was tolerable.

Saturday dawned as hot as earlier in the week. Too hot to do anything outside...so rather than drive each other crazy in the Salem with no cable we deciced to head home.

Thanks for all of the folks that showed up, helped with the pot luck, door prizes. Great new friends all, with talk around about another get together in early October and perhaps an in town get together between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Anyone else out there interested in joining us in any future outtings...just holler to me at hotlapsbob@hotmail.com .

BOB

First off, THANKS BOB & NANCY!!!

Also thanks to Dave's RV, Leisure Time RV, Forest River, Bob and Don for the great door prizes.

We really enjoyed meeting everyone. Ron and Carolyn, Tom and Mellisa, Lester and Robin, Bob and Nancy, Don and Shirley.
It was so nice to put faces to the people on this forum. Great people, everyone. Touring everyone's rig was fun. Enjoyed hearing "tales of experiences" from everyone and Shirley entertained us with some great stories.
It's too bad this hot weather has taken such a hold. It really makes it difficult to enjoy camping. The campground was good except they had no place to go swimming. The people running it were very nice, but it was just too hot. It did feel alot cooler at the falls even though there wasn't much water coming over the falls due to the dry conditions.
We decided to follow Bob and Nancy's lead and come home a day early. Really hated to though.
Here's a few pictures of what we did get to enjoy.

We had agreaat time

I second the thanks to Bob & Nancy!!!! We had a great time despite the heat. Too hot to enjoy it inside a 24' MH!! LOL. We left earlier than the rest for the casino, also had the buffet, Shirley won a little and shock and surprise, I lost a little! The pot puck was great in the AC room! Hope we get together later in the year (cooler weather). We will just casino hop during this heat!! This will give Shirley time to develop more "stories". Thanks everyone, it was fun.

Thanks for having us and thanks for putting this on, we hope to be able to meet up with you guys in the future when it is cooler or to get together and eat dinner also. My email is melissak_payne@yahoo.com, so just drop us a line. Thanks again for everything.............

AMEN to cooler temps.....Just got on the computer now...temp in Tulsa area is 108...and has already been to 111 today...at 1:OO PM.

We are all in for Elkhart 2012 for sure as soon as dates are set. We will be traveling this year the whole month of October...but other than that we are in.

We were talking this weekend about Elkhart and I will just throw these ideas out for folks to think about and think how we can pull off the ideas.
1...Side trip to South Bend to visit Notre Dame University.
2...Side trip...most likley after Elkhart to Detroit to visit Henry Ford Museum...about 200 miles from Elkhart.
3...and most important ...if possibly factory tours of the Forest River plants.

Any other ideas out there ...let it be known here or on the ELKHART 2012 thread.

BOB

Just a note to let you guys know that we made it home okay on Friday. Took
Carolyn to Dr. after we got home. Doc says she got too much heat. She's okay
now, but we are both staying inside.

Had a good time at Natural Falls. Best part was meeting and getting to know you
a little.

Hope everyone got home (or get's home) safely.

We are ready for another rally as soon as the heat lets up a little. Our
thermometer says 108 degrees right now.

See you soon.
