October 16-21 2016 - Boston MA - Freedom Trail
Boston Freedom Trail
October 16 - 21
Boston, 1775. More than a year before representatives of the American Colonies gathered in Philadelphia to declare Independence, storm clouds were gathering.
Legislative acts and other slights had created a powder keg. The Boston Massacre in 1770 and the Boston Tea Party 1773 were key events in the prelude to revolution. Ongoing protests and events led to British troops moving to capture rebel leaders and weapons in Lexington and Concord. As immortalized (and somewhat embellished) by Longfellow, word spread “for the country folks to be up and to arm.”
The British troops were met by farmers, the famous Minutemen who were trained and pledged to be ready at a minute’s notice, at the Concord Bridge. There, “The Shot Heard ‘Round the World” changed history forever.
Normandy Farms in Foxboro will be our base for the Freedom Trail adventure. We’ll take a bus tour of Boston and the surrounding area to visit some of the most famous and some lesser-known locations, and will learn about some of the earliest and most important events leading up to the American Revolution.
Our tour will take us to Harvard Square, Faneuil Hall Marketplace (“Quincy Market”), Old North Church, Paul Revere’s home, and more. In addition to exploring parts of the Freedom Trail, we’ll savor the spectacular beauty of autumn in New England. We should be near the peak of the brilliant foliage season.
We’ll enjoy welcome and farewell dinners, a potluck meal, and a continental breakfast one morning.
There will also be free time in the schedule to allow you to explore additional sites in and around Boston as well as the smaller communities nestled in the area.
All of this fun and excitement is available for only $525.00 for two adults in an RV, or $395.00 for one adult in an RV. There's a small charge for additional persons.
Only 50 sites are available, so sign up early to get in on the fun! Download the registration form at http://www.forestriverfrog.com/pdf/2...gistration.pdf.

This is probably one of the nicest campgrounds in the country. The added bonus is that it is just 4 miles from hallowed grounds, the place where (4) Lombardi trophies reside. Patriots place, Gillette stadium. Oh, and we have a Bass Proshop too.

If you mean as in performing maintenance, that is not correct, other than at the International rally at Goshen.
If memory serves correctly, Bama Bob arranged with a local dealer in Alabama to have someone from that dealership at the 'Bama-Ganza Rally, and they might have performed some warranty work on some units, but to the best of my knowledge, Forest River does not send techs to perform maintenance at any rally other than the International.

Take the train into South Station and you'll be within walking distance to just about everything. We were there for 2 weeks this summer and loved it!
Be sure to take in the old statehouse tour and the Tea Party museum. Look out for John Gammell and Thomas Urann (my 5th & 6th great Grandfathers)who are documented patriots and hung out with John Adams and Paul Revere!
John is buried in Boston Common south cemetery and Thomas is entombed in the North Church cemetery.
Regards,
Fred
