Road conditions MI-TN

Phor all the Phrogs traveling south the the Music City Phrog Phest...

North of Detroit through to Toledo on I-75 is not too bad (For our 🇨🇦 Friends, there it a bit of construction on I-75 at the Ambassador bridge interchange)

Toledo to the I-475 interchange is all good then things go downhill with a lot of lane shifts and lane dividers (stay left-it's wider) all the way through Dayton. Dayton to Cincinnati is wide open and a great drive. Just outside Cincinnati, there are two lane splits - make sure you take the two lane side of the splits (the first one is to the right, the second to the left)

Once through Cincinnati it is wide open to the I-71 cutoff. At the cutoff for @ 5 miles still has the orange construction barrels up (they are completing the guardrail) but it is wide open all the way to the I-264 bypass. I-264 to I-65 is wide open.

If you decide to go through IN via Ft Wayne, be advised there is a LOT of construction on I-69 to I-65. Heavy construction at the I-69/I-65 interchange, and construction I-65 to Louisville. The bridge over the Ohio at the IN/KY border is under heavy construction.

I-65 Louisville to mile marker 83 is wide open. At MM 83, I-65 goes down to 2 lanes with a 55MPH speed limit that no one seems to pay attention to 😜. It stays this way to mile marker 57 and then opens up to 3 lanes of interstate goodness all the way to the TN border 😀

I-65 drops to 2 lanes in TN but the highway is wide open to MM 88 right outside Nashville -- then the fun that has previously been discussed in the forum begins 😖

Hope this helps folks coming down from the north.

LOL - the post was a work in progress all the way up and back down

There were potentials for complete stoppages going through IN -- what I could not determine was if IN road crews work only at night - we were rolling through IN from 10PM-5AM

Michigan roads just plain suck, some of the worst in the us. I have lived in michigan all my life, it does get better once you leave the state. The up of michigan has pretty good roads. The lower of michigan is just crap. You can tell the change in the roads as soon as you come across the ohio state line on i-75.

That depends which part of the country you may be heading. Most roads I've been on are terable no matter where you go Stay out of VA Parts TN, KY. My trip heading to MI and then on to Goshen is being dreaded. Later RJD

I Ran I 69 to I 65 some construction. Google time for my run was 8 hrs 15 minutes, Our road time with a 15 minute rush hour hold up in Nashville was 8 hr 35 minutes. Clear sailing all the way, Speed for me is 62 mph or 100 kph. Long run was close to 600 miles.

I plan on running the same route, I am leaving the Flint, MI area some time before or around noon. Where did you start your run from, Canada or someplace in Michigan? I am debating on driving straight through or stopping and catching some sleep, since I am working all night then leaving in the morning.

Sye, Started in Canada at Kincardine on Sunday at noon and stayed overnight in Lansing. Lansing straight to Nashville. We missed everything but 15 minutes stop and go in Nashville itself. 8 hrs drive time, 11 hrs travel time with stops. Road had construction but no problem doing 60 all the way.
