Hey all, We are new also and really wanting to attend the September event in Amana. Does anyone know if there are any spots still open? I called to make a reservation and had to leave a message. It sounds like you all are seasoned veterans at this and hoping we can fit in, as this will be our first FROG rally.

Nope, not all seasoned vets. This is our first year attending Frog Rallies. Though we have also booked the Petrolinia and Solar Eclipse rallies for earlier in the year.

Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear there are still open spots, I will wait for the call back. Just got the call back as I was typing this and made our reservations for the 28th. Debated on the 27 but not sure when the Froggers are coming in. I can't wait to put faces with names from reading the posts from this forum.

Rallys are fun. Did it when I was a kid with my parents and now doing it again!! Lots of fun for all. I see Amana being the last Rally of Season for a lot! Happy times and Ein Prosit at Oktoberfest!!

Hey Turbs is there a shuttle bus into Amana or are the 4 Wheeler side by sides and Golf Carts method of transport?

There was a shuttle running. SilhouettePenny used the shuttle and reported back that it worked well.
Getting in and out by car wasn't terrible, except when the actual parade was going. Parking was variable. If you go down to the far end of town it was pretty easy to park. If you stayed to the near end it got pretty jammed up.
I did not see any 4 wheelers or golf carts in town

That could be trouble... The first thing that popped into my mind was a Keg shaped take-off on the Animal House "Cake"...

Trolly car shuttle service departed from the southwest corner of the C/G just outside the perimeter and went straight to the downtown area. You can walk out the west gate toward the Old Creamery Theater building then turn left for a five minute walk to the pick up point. If you drive to this location go out the main entrance to the north and turn left twice, free parking available. The return trip is very scenic, so be patient as the trolly driver travels all the way out to I-80 for a hotel pick up before returning to the campground.
As Cowracer said, parking downtown is better on Friday & Saturday if you go all the way through town (maybe 3 blocks) and watch for the hand made "parking" signs on the left. One of the few places left where parking on the grass in encouraged.
And of course the "First Timers Attendance" rule applies....if this is your first time at Amana you either have to buy a beer for the Frog-Toberfest team at the Fest Halle, or provide subsistence for the GMG at the bonfire site....it's in the rulebook, I think.

Nope not the way it works. First timers should be treated by old timers to show us gratitude for coming. Later RJD

Sounds like hip-waders may be a good option.

Yea, that sounds about right, anything to help the host boost attendance numbers is alright by me. Gotta maintain that "Largest FROG member sponsored rally outside of Goshen" status.
