I guess we are not part of the "elite" group. We did not get a concrete slab site and we are sitting in a "pond" which come to think of it that is appropriate. I used our leveling boards to make a sidewalk to higher ground.

My concrete pad was under a couple of inches of water this morning too, the dog thought it was great, it's gone now, that was a lot of rain, there are empty pads down here.

DW and I may have to swing by Friday or Saturday night. We are in another Campground in Pigeon Forge starting the 17th but it would be nice to meet some of you.

We don't have a concrete pad either iowaborn, we're in grass, gravel, and with the recent rains, a pond also. At least we didn't have to hitch up and move to higher ground like a few of the FROGs did last night.
Due to heavy rains, the Little Pigeon River came out of its banks for a short while last night.

Mountndream, Oakman and I don't live that close to the Meremac, but we have been kicked out of CofE parks because of flooding.

Total Bliss: 26 camp sites, with 26 RVs in attendance, total of 54 (one rig had 4 people.)
The owner of River Bend campground, Rex, was a wonderful host and tried hard to accommodate anything we needed. He said they normally do not book rallies during October - they don't need to because the fall colors in the Smokies attract enough people that the campground is usually full - but one of his staff booked this group and he didn't want to disappoint us, so he made an exception for us. It was a great week, renewing old friendships and making new ones, eating well (it WAS a FROG event, after all), seeing 4 great shows, and getting a chance to see the Smokey Mountains in all their fall glory.
And DDC is now a star in the COUNTY TONIGHT show!

Thanks Capt. Mike. Do you know if they are planning for a future event?

Can't answer whether a return visit to Pigeon Forge will be planned. that's a question for F.R.O.G. Bob. I do know that this one was well received.
You can keep up with all of the planned FROG events/rallies by visiting their "official" site at FROG - Forest River Owners Group

Capt. Mike is correct. Despite the rain and traffic, I think everyone really enjoyed this rally and meeting up with old FROG friends and making new ones. I know my wife and I did. (or maybe it was just all that Tennessee moonshine that helped us cope with the rain and traffic) LOL!!!

The Smokies might well become a location that we repeat, as we did with the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC and have done with the Holiday Festival of Lights in Charleston, SC (we still have a standby list for this year's Charleston trip). This year's Smoky Mountain Jamboree included camping, four shows, three dinners, and possibly other activites in Pigeon Forge, and of course we were able to get some great group rates on the shows. We chose to go in October for the beautiful fall foliage, knowing that it's the busiest time of the year precisely because of the foliage.
We can do that again, or, as the Coachmen Owners' Association is doing, go during the Christmas season, knowing that it's a great time to be there but that the weather can be riskier. Another alternative is to do a campout format, including camping, a dinner and possibly a potluck, but with no other organized group activities. That keeps the cost of the basic trip down, but eliminates the availability of group rates for those who might want to do shows on their own.
So far this year, in addition to events, trips and tours that we've put together, we've worked to help put together locally-organized activities in Oregon, California, Oklahoma, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Kentucky, and probably others that are slipping my mind right now. We're happy to hear what people want to do, and either organize them or work with leaders in the various areas to get them set up.

We really enjoyed this rally, we generally go to Pigeon Forge in September and also use it as a stop off place when we are coming home from Florida in the spring,as far as value for money is concerned this was a great deal because there is no way we could have come close to doing all that was laid on by Frog Bob for the price we paid.
