Southeast Rally 2018 Location Poll

Starting to think about where to hold the southeast rally in June 2018. Last year it was very successful in Mount Airy, NC (town Mayberry RFD was based on). This year it is near Helen, GA. Last year I promised to bring it back to Mount Airy aka Mayberry in 2018. My question is would people prefer to return to Mayberry, go elsewhere in NC ie Maggie Valley, Asheville, outer banks, or go to TN, maybe near Sevierville or Pigeon Forge.

Mayberry was nice but the long duration we ran out of things to do. The DW and I like to be able to see and do things around the area. Makes for interesting trip and see what the areas have to offer. Just my two Penneys worth. Later RJD

Allie, consider changing the answers. Sevierville and Pigeon Forge are only about five miles apart. There are a lot of great (and large) campgrounds in that area. All the listed locations would be great but I'll vote for the Tennessee location for the same reasons Ace mentioned.

At some point during every day you suddenly realize nothing else productive is going to happen the rest of that day. For me, it usually occurs around 9 am.

I vote for Mayberry because it is close to me and has a lot of sites. I understand that some might not have found much to do but the area does have several things to do within a 30-40min ride. What is a estimate of the dates for the rally next year?

Also, wanted to add that River Plantation in Sevierville TN is a nice campground.

Hopefully you will get enough responses prior to our June rally in Helen and we can discuss. Later RJD
