We also are looking forward to another great rally. We hosted the Amana Colonies rally and had 86 units. WOW. The catered dinner is tonight, Sunday morning is the farewell continental breakfast. So sad to be leaving everyone here. Had a great time. NOW to head your way and have another great time looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

For you warm blooded souls like me- check the forecast next week- we have a cold front with rain forecast- plenty of rain Thurs and Fri- high of 77 on Fri. Brrrrr.
We will still have a wonderful time - no doubt! Dan and Lori have worked hard putting this together and we can't wait to meet them!!

We are getting there very slowly, had to get a jump at a rest stop in Iowa. Back on the road 3 1/2 hours later (the service company went to the wrong rest stop). This morning lost my wallet and spent over an hour looking for it, found it in my sweatshirt pocket. Kansas City was horrible my nerves were shot. Stopped early to recuperate in Emporia,KS. Hope to drive 8 or 9 hours tomorrow and arrive early on the 7th,

Won't make the Texas rally but hope all that attend have a good time. You will enjoy Johnny Rodriguez. His voice is still there and he has been on top of his game the last several years.

We are now at the KOA in Amarillo. It is NOT a beautiful place, but a good one night stop over. We got here late (7:30) after a late start from Golden, CO.
In the morning I will call Buckhorn about arriving a day early.

5er tom....
I agree - the Amarillo KOA is a DUMP... Many years ago, we'd stay there as we drove from Houston to CO and it was a really clean, nice place.... We stayed there two yrs ago and I was shocked at how it had gone downhill.... Terrible CG roads (pot holes, low limbs on trees over road, etc)
It's a shame.... We've stayed there our last time I believe....

True. But I must say that generally speaking KOA's are an okay place to stay. We have been really disappointed in Good Sam parks. Some are ok, but many should be an embarrassment to Good Sam. But, as with Camping World it is all about the money and screw the user.

Oh we really love KOA's - have stayed in LOTS of them and the best by far was Mt. Rushmore KOA... Absolutely fantastic.... Lots to do and one of the most professionally run we've ever seen.....

On the way home try Overnight RV Park Amarillo. It's as nice as any of the few nice ones there (if any could be called nice) and a Flying "J" at the entrance to gas up in the morning. Can stay on service road to the Big Texan if that is your thing. We used to stay at the KOA but not for a number of years because, as you said, not a pretty site. Anyway, might check it out.
